How do we summon the FX bin in the Track View?

Hi,

I dabble in legacy and new projects alike, and something's been bugging me : in some projects, in the track view, there's a dedicated vertical bin for real-time effects. In others, the effects dialog is mushed up with all the other options, horizontally.

How do I get that vertical effects bin on command? I want all my projects to have it on each track.

Thanks!

Do you have the tab highlighted that says "ALL" at the bottom of the active track pane? Also if you are using templates they may not have this highlighted either and others may. Simply create templates that do and your problem is solved.

I did, and I did. The bin just won't show up in legacy projects, apparently. And I guess there's no way to force it.

Guys, come on.. :( this isn't a new problem. I've been living with it for a while and thought I'd eventually stumble on the solution, but that hasn't happened. I've worked hundreds of hours with this status quo, so I've had the chance to zoom in and out zillions of times.

It's not a zoom thing, or a scroll thing, or an anything "hidden" thing. The FX dialog is THERE, it's just horizontal like all the other dialogs in the track view. Not separate and distinct like it should be. For it to be hidden would suggest there are TWO dialogs per track, which just isn't the case. The problem is the FORMAT of the FX bin in the track view. Not its lack of presence.

It's like this in all legacy projects. I think it's obvious that the fact that it's a legacy project has more than a little to do with this.

The question is : since Sonar 7 can display legacy projects the legacy way, is there a way to CHANGE this behavior, once the legacy project is opened in Sonar 7, so that the FX bin is vertical and right-justified, like all new projects have it?

You may have made it a drop down dialog without knowing that you did. Its easy to fix this if that is what you did. Goto the Zoom menu and check if you have vertical or horizontal FX bin selected.

Go to View>Layout> (I think) then click on the Default. Then the bins should come up.
I think I have the same problem my "default" layout, isn't actually the "default" layout.

But I should bring up my template everytime that has everything ready the way I like it, even the VST isntruments and MIDI channels set.

I owe you an apology for reading your first post too quickly.

This did indeed fix the problem. What you get when you uncheck that is what I got everytime I opened a legacy project.

    Thanks, Laserich!

Not all all my friend. But, yeah, that option is project specific so it gets saved, and of course can be different, with each project.
