sfz - default key switch?

Hi

I'm building a sfz definition based on the original KAB brass samples using key switching to get all the articulations in one instrument in Dimension. So far so good and the articulations keys are all there in the bottom octave of my keyboard.

My question is this - is there a way to set the default key switch?

A minor thing but it would be nice to start playing the 'favourite' articluation without having to remember to hit a key switch first.

Thanks

    Briefly, try using articulation <group>s bounded by sw_lokey, sw_hikey, and sw_last.

    In this case, sw_lokey + sw_hikey is the range of keyswitches and sw_last is the actual keyswitch that triggers the <group>.

    Snippet of a previous experiment:

    <group>
    sw_lokey=19 sw_hikey=23 sw_last=19 sw_default=19
    sample=chime.wav oscillator=on oscillator_phase=-1
    group=2
    lokey=c2

    <group>
    sw_lokey=19 sw_hikey=23 sw_last=21
    sample=fm 01.wav oscillator=on oscillator_phase=-1
    group=2
    lokey=c2

    Thanks tanuki,

    I had already got all the groups with sw_lokey, sw_hikey and sw_last bits working and that is not a problem - in fact it works a treat!

    After seeing your extract I tried the sw_default opcode but it doesn't work for me. Is it a proper sfz code - do you have a reference for it in the listings?

    regards

    Actually, I have no idea where the sw_default came from. It's not in the DevXchange listing or the Cann book. Sorry about that.

    Haven't tried sw_up - thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think that will do the trick.

    Won't that cause the group to operate at all times except when that key is pressed?

    yes i believe youre right. Ive got the sw_up and sw_down to work together but not with sw_last.
