Has anyone gotten the Behringer UCA 200 to work with Sonar? I tried it last night and after a warning screen, the playback was stuttery and terrible (worked fine on other Windows apps). I downloaded the ASIO drivers from Behringer's website, and now the interface doesn't appear on any playback options, including Windows.

I'm going to contact Behringer about this, but I trust you all more.

I've never used it, but I've helped others get this device working. you definitely must use the ASIO drivers from Behringer. just to be sure, tho, you didn't say - did you change to ASIO driver mode after installing the ASIO drivers?

also, is the onboard sound card still enabled in sonar? were you using the onboard before trying to install the UCA 200? you might need to delete the AUD.ini file and try again.

Well, Beagle, then I've bucked the system. Behringer said to uninstall the drivers. I thought, great, it will work with my other windows apps again, but still not Sonar.

However, when I switched from ASIO back to WDM, Sonar rescanned all my audio devices, including the UCA200. Viola! Now it works. No new drivers, and in WDM mode (which I've had more success with anyways.)

Thanks for your input. In this case the trick was just re-scanning the audio devices.

good, glad it's working! and it's good information to know that you got it working in WDM without the ASIO drivers - that might help others. thanks for reporting back

I may have spoken too quickly. The very next evening I launched Sonar and got the same errors I was getting when I first installed.

I finally got it to run with the MME drivers, but with the occasionaly blip, and a dropout every time I tried to start the song in the middle.

I think the best answer for me is to invest in a better audio interface.

Are you talking about the UCA 202? I had problems running it with ASIO4ALL. Then I installed Behringer's drivers, and it works very well in ASIO mode--smooth operation at very low latency.

Don't ask me what I did differently, but the thing does work.

Nah, it's a 200. I think that might be part of the problem with the new drivers - the Website doesn't say 200, only 202.

the 200 and 202 are the same thing, according to one of the Behringer techs I had an email conversation with a few months ago. one of them is sold separately and the other is sold with some of their mixers. I can't remember which one was which.

Rob - the UCA200/202 is only 16bit anyway, so IMO it's not something I would purchase in the first place because of the lack of resolution you get during A/D conversion. If you're interested in getting a better soundcard, I've got some inexpensive recommendations on my website in my signature.
