Soundfont to SFZ conversion?
What's the best way to convert soundfont (sf2) files to the sfz format that can be used by Rapture?

What's the best way to convert soundfont (sf2) files to the sfz format that can be used by Rapture? You could use something like Extreme Sample Converter which is 80 Euros or Awave Studio which is $99 but there is a shareware Light version

Thanks for your reply. I've just found a free program written by somebody called Steve Holt that is an editor for the SFZ format and will also convert SF2 to SFZ. Sounds great and just what I was looking for! http://audio.clockbeat.com/sfZed.html I'm going to give this a go....

I've just found a free program written by somebody called Steve Holt that is an editor for the SFZ format and will also convert SF2 to SFZ. Sounds great and just what I was looking for! Thanks for the Heads up there Matt, I have got clients that would also prefer something Freeware / Shareware and a little bit cheaper.

Back before the invention of fire I had an old AWE 32 and had created some nice SF2's. My laptop sound card does not support Sound fonts. Is there a way to convert these sf2s to a patch format that Music Creator recognizes?

Is there a way to convert these sf2s to a patch format that Music Creator recognizes?
A very common and popular way to use soundfonts (.sf2) files in a audio/MIDI sequencer like Music Creator or SONAR is to load .sf2 files in a virtual instrument and play them and/or record the performance to a MIDI track. If you are using Cakewalk's Music Creator 5, you can use a VST instrument that loads sf2 files to use sf2 files. At the Cakewalk store, you can download the now free SFZ+ Professional soundfont player to load soundfonts and play them.
