Hi there Austin
Unlike some Cakewalk programs, Guitar Tracks doesn't automatically scan for VST's when you open it - consequently, you have to tell it the location where new VST's have been installed.
Open GT and from the menu bar, select
Tools>VST Configuration Wizard (GT's name for the VST Adapter)
If for some reason this option is not in the list, you'll need to install the VST update patch - click on
THIS LINK to go straight to the download page (you'll need to restart GT for the update to take effect).
Once you have the VST Adapter open, click on the
Add button and browse to your
Shared VST folder.
If you've simply unzipped the
.dll files straight into this folder, simply highlight it and click
OK - you'll be taken back to the main VST Adapter window, now click on
Next then
Next again at the following screen and finally
OK when the confirmation screen appears.
If you unzipped your VST's to their
own folders and then placed these folders inside the main
Shared Plugins folder, you'll have to direct the Adapter to these sub-folders - it doesn't automatically scan more than one level down.
If you intend using the VST Adapter a lot, I'd recommend putting a shortcut for it on your desktop - it's a good idea in any case because it will mean in future you don't have to open GT3 every time you want to use it.
By default, it installs here:
Start > My Computer > HDD(
normally C drive)
> Programs > Cakewalk > Cakewalk VST Adapter 4 Open the VST Adapter folder and right click on the
vstconfig.exe file - from the options, select
Send To > Desktop (create shortcut) Hope that helps Austin, let us know how you get on.
Steve
