Beatscape invisible and crashing (only) in Sonar8?
For some reason Beatscape doesn't show up with Sonar8 on my computer. Session Drummer 2 is exactly in the same sub-directory as Beatscape and is visible when i want to insert a track. If i try to insert a Beatscape track with the predefined track template Sonar8 shows a VisualC++ assertion dialog (Assertion failed! / Program: ... / File: ..\Synth\SynthUtils.cpp / Line: 424 / Expression: -1 ==iErr). Sonar8 dies immediately after confirming that dialog. Weird enough Beatscape works fine in Live7 and Canatbile! So on my computer it seems that Beatscape is happily working with every DAW but doesn't like Sonar8 ... Anyone having the same problem and a workaround (and yes, i have checked the VST directories and did reset the VST info and did a rescan and did a reinstall of everything and uninstalled my Sonar7 and cleaned up any remaining directories and i even contacted support)? Thanks Eric

I just finished using Beatscape last night in Sonar 8. I spent 6 hours going thru the rather large pattern area they gave us. I had no problems that I can say of. Sounds like your install of Sonar 8 didn`t go well. I had a blast last night using Beatscape! I have Sonar 6 , 7 and 8 installed on my quad core. All of them run great. I did have to recscan all VSTs to get the Amber module to show up. when I first installed Sonar 8, it wasen`t there in the list menu. Not sure why, but it ran fine after the rescaned VST folder. Eric: I am having the very same problem you describe in your post. If I add Beatscape as a softsynth I don't get this problem. -Steve

I'm having the same issue, too. Sonar 8 was working fine (except for telling me Beatscape wasn't installed) before I installed Beatscape. Now I can't load Sonar without getting this error & then crashing. What gives?

Just figured out somewhat of a workaround (if you can actually call it that). Take out the Beatscape.dll file from your VST folder before you load Sonar. Once you have it loaded & your project is open, put the file back in the folder & rescan your VSTs. Voila, you should be able to use the plugin fine. Ridiculously tedious, so I'm still waiting for the fix on this.

How do I tell what version I have? Can't seem to find it. Either way, strangely enough, it seems to be working now! I deleted the old Beatscape instances I had in the synth rack, dropped the .dll back into the plugins folder, rescanned, loaded a new Beatscape, saved & closed Sonar, reopened (with the plugin in the folder), loaded the project & it came in fine! Weird...
