Hi We1,

The VS-700R has ADAT I/O so you can use any multi-channel preamp with ADAT out to add eight more preamps to the unit. Focusrite's OctoPre and Presonus DigiMax are some examples. You can of sourse also add on a second VS-700R to the system.

You couls use another interface, but you will have to use WDM drivers. ASIO doesn;t allow multiple interfaces to work together, but WDM will.

Hopefully oe of those scenarios will allow you to do what you need to do.

Thanks,

To expand on Seth's post, there are 2 stereo digital i/o's - you can use one of them at a time giving you 10 inputs. There is also the ADAT 8 i/o, which will also work at 96 kHz w/ 4 inputs. You have 18 ins at 44.1, plus the one on the interface, too. That should meet most requirements, unless you are doing big band or rediculous amount of drum mic'ing.

I hooked up my Motu 2408 Mk3 running in standalone mode ( no drivers to the comp.) via ADAT digital 2 slaving it to the V-700's wordclock. 8 more channels and they work fine with very low latency.
