Sound Center plugin can't be accessed?

I have recently bought Cakewalk Music Creator 5. I have installed all contents including the Sound Center plugin however whenever I go to 'Add Track' > 'Intrument Track', Sound Center is not shown.

I cannot seem to open this plugin through my Music creator?

I have re-installed and have made sure that I ticked it as a plugin to install and it all seemed to install ok. Is this a common problem? How do I resolve this issue?

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul - I'm not following your process. there's no "ADD TRACK" on the menu options at the top of the screen and if you try to use the right click from the left side of the track view, you don't get an option to ADD TRACK, nor is there an INSERT INSTRUMENT TRACK option, so could you be a little more specific about where you're seeing those menus?

if you go to the top menu bar of the main MC5 window and choose INSERT>SOFTSYNTHS> then the CAKEWALK SOUND CENTER should be listed under the 2nd line of the next menu (the options are divided between DXi and VSTi and the sound center is a VSTi in the lower portion of the menu).

and then a window will pop up asking if you want a MIDI SOURCE track and an OUTPUT TRACK or if you want an SINGLE INSTRUMENT TRACK.

Once you install a track..... I believe you need to add an audio track...not a midi track..... right click in the effects bin and add a synth.... the sound center should be on your list of options....

clicking it will add the soundcenter to that track, and automatically set up the midi track "behind the scenes" to record the midi data required by the synth...from your midi keyboard. (IIRC)

not for adding an instrument track, herb. you have to go thru the INSERT>SOFTSYNTHS and click on SOUNDCENTER then choose SINGLE INSTRUMENT TRACK as the option in the pop up window.

Thanks for the reply. Ok, I understand exactly what you're talking about. "you have to go thru the INSERT>SOFTSYNTHS and click on SOUNDCENTER"...

When I try this 'Sound Center' is not in the list at all. It is installed on my computer, as I have all the system files, however I can't seem to access it from Sound Creator 5 like you suggested.

Is there any way to resolve this issue?

What other soft synths are in the 'Insert' list? Can you insert any of them?

I have only got a choice of (These are fully functional):

    1.Cakewalk TTS-1
    2. Studio Instruments> SI- Drum Kit.

In my program files under cakewalk> Sound Center, all my files are there. Why isn't this linking with my Sound Center Soft Synths?

Cheers!! I need any advice I can get.

Sound Center is a VSTi and not a DXi. the ones you listed above are DXi - so it looks like you haven't scanned for VSTis.

    go to OPTIONS>GLOBAL>VST PLUGINS
and click on the SCAN VST Folders button.

yeah... you'll need to scan it by adding it to the scan list.... once it scans, it'll be there every time.

    Filo, Guitarhacker hold everything - I just found this ;

    C:\program files\Steinberg\Cubase LE\Vstplugins\Synths\Cakewalk Sound Center\

    Modules
    programs
    Resources
    Cakewalk Sound Center  .dll

So I'm going to try to add this to the scan folders list . . .
