IMPORT AUDIO FROM ROLAND VS2480?

NEWBIE LAME QUESTION- I'M ATTEMPTING TO SEND AN AUDIO TRACK I'VE RECORDED AND MIXED DOWN ON MY ROLAND VS2480. WHEN I TRY TO RECORD IT ONTO SONAR 2.2, I GET A VERY DISTORTED SIGNAL. I'M GOING FROM MY MAIN OUTS OF THE ROLAND INTO MY SOUNDCARD ON THE PC. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS

Yes...the best and only way (in vs880..not sure as to how MUCH diff between the two) is S/PDIF so your soundcard would need a digital in....and then I believe you can only send your master fader set to the PC anyway...if this does not help I suggest visiting vs planet.
    Good luck

what you really need to do is get an R-Bus card and you can use the VS as a control surface in Sonar. You can download the templet from www.RolandUS.com

Is Sonar set to 24bit? The VS2480 most likely exported that way. All so, an older version of the VS2480 OS had some noise in the CD-R export!

This is in some way unrelated to your current situation however, I let you know, there's a new thing coming to the market for the VS2480. How I know this is because I have beta tested the software with hardware and I've been using it for a while now with excellent results. For more info go to:

    http://www.vsplanet.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=16;t=013350

It's a big read, I suggest you go to the end of the posts and go form there!

Called VSCSI, it hooks up to your VS2480's SCSI port and allows, .WAV export direct to PC (No CD-R's required), Hard Drive back-up (Play/record), DVD-R back-up, Support for S-ATA HDD etc...

    Hope this helps!
