Nagging little issues that get under your skin. Still in 8.5?
Open the Widget manager and uncheck the boxes for the MSR buttons so they are not shown on the Track Pane. Does the Input Echo widget still jump out of alignment to the extreme left of the Track Pane? It should stay to the right of the Track Name Box. Why doesn't someone fix that?

John It fine here! Can you lose the Automation widgets too and see what happens?

I tried in a folder and it has the same look as your picture. It is not fixed nor is it just a nuisance because I could not put input echo on it instead armed the track. This is a bad bug. Also the loss of the MIDI meters after a solo on a MIDI track is still there.

Have you tried to create a custom widget tab to see if you can get it configured the way you want it? Never mind I just tried it with a custom tab and it does the same thing

Also the loss of the MIDI meters after a solo on a MIDI track is still there. Yes, it's not just a cosmetic thing. One of the biggest gripes a certain segment of users has been that the GUI is cluttered. The way to address this clutter was the Widget Manager. I have tried to set up Widget Tabs that show just the minimum buttons and boxes for a particular stage in a project. When I pull up my Input/Output tab, I have no need to see the MSR and automation buttons. I want my I/Os out where I can see them in the smallest track height possible. I have another widget for FX that all I want to see is the FX box but it is always justified to the right side of the Track Pane (when in vertical mode.) These are examples of uncompleted features that make me wonder what is also uncompleted but also unseen on the surface.

I think (as I've managed to do this myself in the past :-)) that this can be caused by a corrupt - and I don't know exactly how - tvwidgets.xml file, in your user's Cakewalk directory. I've had to delete mine in the past and recreate the layout from scratch (tedious, but I had my previous version of SONAR to compare with/took screenshots). Try that.

Insert Send behaviour is still niggling me, and the vaunted 'updated insert assistant' will continue to go unused in my workflow. That's nearly £4 worth of features (£90 divided by 24 tweets relating to updates) that are going wasted! ;-) Child
