Moved Clips are not in time ???
Hi everybody, i got the problem with sonar, that clips dont sit in the pocket and beat when i move them. Even when i drag and drop them into the same bar, they just are a little bit off beat in a randomized way, nevertheless when i enable the raster (snap to grid). It makes no difference. Only if i zoom in hardcore massively iam able to disable this problem and it disappears, but then i loose overview over the project. How can i fix that?

you need to adjust your snap to grid settings or enable your snap to grid. Refer to the help file to explain further, if you never heard of it/ Its a great tool for this Cj

Also Aim Assist may prove helpful.

I have a major problem with this. The gentlemen are right that those tools will help moving clips, but the problem I experience is not this. I have been able to duplicate the problem every so often and then it will work....only to look at some clips later and they will be off a few ticks ...mostly late. All the time I have snap function enabled. It seems to happen mainly when I push Sonar really hard...but again it's hard to replicate all the time... I have told cake but it's hard to diagnose. Good luck and check your clips often!

Make sure "snap to zero crossings" is unchecked in the the box near the bottom of the snap-to-grid- settings. I miss this all the time.
You're in an amazing state. So stay there.

I tried everything with snap to grid function and i really think its a bug....... bad for such an software....... because its elementary that clips sit right in the pocket !!!

Just to be sure - have to tried the option 'move by' rather than 'move to'? That helps when your clips do not start on a beat boundary. Cliff

☄ Helpful
Have you checked to see if there's any dead space at the beginning of the clip before the music in them starts? If you zoom right in before you move them, does the beginning of the clip line up EXACTLY to a grid line? If it doesn't then SONAR will do what it's supposed to do and move the start of the CLIP - NOT the music IN the clip. As Cliff suggests - move BY rather than move TO is the way forward.
