This is going to be simple ...

    1. PCIe x1 Graphics card driving a Matrox F1220 Remote Graphics Unit (RGU) - Note: I don't do Video
    2. PCIe x1 SSL MADI Extreme 128-Channel Controller Card / Alphalink system

I don't think I'll need more than 4 perhaps.  But you've got a great system from what I've been reading

For several years, they were used for nothing.  Onboard video is more than good enough.  Now, I've a low-end video card (solely for dual monitors), but no use for PCie 1x slots ever arises.

I use them for warming up Pop Tarts.  The edge fits quite nicely in the slot.

Actually, I only use one slot so far and it's for my dual monitor video card.  I have the onboard video disabled on the motherboard.

Anyone ever tried running that video out too?  I thought it might be nice for a 32" TV monitor or something.

In two computers...a video card.  In one of them, an Hauppauge HDTV tuner card.

    It depends on the MotherBoard.
On my system, when a video card is inserted in a pcie slot, it automatically disables the onboard video.
If your system doesn't do this, then you can use the onboard video card too.  Whether you will have problems or not will be determined on how nice the two video interfaces play together.

Mmmm....I like that one Mod Bod, less time in the kitchen and more time at the DAW. A great workflow enhancement.

    1. empty (the large CPU fan encroaches on the space, making the slot unusable)
    2. UAD-1e
    3. network card

I am assuming that you mean the PCI-e x1 slots rather than the x16, which is obviously intended for a graphics card.
