plug-in prestes missing

Hi!

Seems like I lost all of my plug-in presets.
Where can I find them/ how can I get them back?

Guess I lost them after I changed some directories..

Thanks!

It looks like you know what you did, so just un-move them or make the plugin look at the new location or re-install the plugins.

Thanks, but I don't remember the location for the directory, or what folder.
What's the default path when installing Sonar?

Where the presets are will depend on the plugin. If its a CW plugin or one that has an installer it's most likely in a subfolder of C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VST Plugins\'Plugin name'\'Presets' (if you chose Cakewalk VST Plugins as the default vst folder) or under for example C:\Program Files\IK Multimedia\Amplitube Fender\Presets etc.

A lot of plugins also create or install into a default directory of Steinberg\VST Plugins if you have another audio application that uses that path, so they may be there.

You say you've move the directories so I'd try a search for the plugin name to see if you can locate the directory for each plug and put them back where they should be. Failing that a re-install may be the only option.

    Thanks!

    An example: Pentagon
    I find the presets here: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared DXi\Pentagon I\rgcaudio Pentagon I\Presets
However they don't show up in the interface/GUI.
And in that case I don't see any way to load the presets within the Pentagon interface.

It's like Sonar have a map for the presets, that I've taken away from it.
It was in Global Options > Folders that I remember I changed many paths.
Which of them are about plug-in presets?

    Last option is reinstalling, yes..

In this case, I think reinstalling would probably be the quickest solution. Just reinstall the VSTs or DXis, not everything.

I concur, if you have no idea what you moved, then reinstalling is your only option

Hm.. reinstalled the vsts, rescanned, restarted,
    and no change.
So.. had a second look and.. I had just forgotten where presets was to be found -it's an integrated part of the GUI..

I think it was my waves-plugins that confused me to believe something was missing. They show up twice in my menu, one with presets, one without..

    Sorry for jumping the conclusions..
    Thanks!
