Does this driver support midi over RBUS? So an RPC-1 can stream audio and midi from and to an SI-24?
 
I was able to use the original latest drivers on the RBUS card by right clicking in SYSTEM and adding the driver manually. I did looze midi over RBUS though.
 
My system now holds two M-audio RBUS cards and one RPC-1

I tried above drivers and saw the same. You loose midi over RBUS. But I was able to use a latency of 64 samples. Wich is something not available in XP. As far as I am aware of.

I tried it too.   MIDI does not work,   Also, my PC will no longer shutdown properly but that may or may-not be related to this driver.   
Most concerning is that I found that Sonar would often hang.   I then upgraded from Sonar 7 to Sonar 8.5 because that is the only version that officially supports Windows 7 but it still hangs often.     I found that on some of my more complex songs (lots of tracks and lots of effects) that the sound would sometimes just not work under 64 bit Windows 7.   Lots of quirks.   

I downgraded to 32 bit Windows 7 using the same driver and it worked somewhat better.

I so wish that a high quality RBUS driver w/ MIDI support would be released.   I love my Roland SI-24 but it seems like it's days are numbered.  

I´ve got the same problem. Need help! Every time I´m going to work on a session I waste my time on fixing this problem. Is there any solution out there?

What version of the chip ROM do you have?

You need at least to have ver. "RPC-1A03" , the original ROM  "RPC-1A02" is defective.

The driver has been tested with Windows 7 Ultimate and two RPC-1 boards connected to two VS-2480 workstations and it works well.

The limitations in the MIDI side are inherent to the design of the RPC-1 , it only supports realtime system common messages (less SysEx).

I use two RPC-1 cards at home with some Edirol DA-2496 rack units. I thought they were gonna be paperweights!

If I get the time to reformat my home PC to Win7. I'll chime in here with what I get with S8.5.2

I have a fix for the shutdown problem.  I am using RPC-1 card on my Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit PCs.  Both work very well except the PCs hang during shutdown.  I found this fix on the web.

There are 2 Windows services that is causing the problem.  Need to force the 2 services to stop before shutdown using the following batch file.

1) Create a batch file named "AudioStop.bat" using a text editor (notepad will work)
2) Right Click on newly created .bat file >"edit" and enter following 2 lines: 

net stop "Audiosrv" 
net stop "AudioEndpointBuilder" 

3) Save file as "AudioStop.bat" in directory c:\ProgramData\
4) Open "run" from start menu and enter "gpedit.msc" (without quotes) and hit "OK" 
5) Now navigate on left pane of window  "Computer Configuration" >  "Windows Settings" > "Scripts (Startup/Shutdown)"
6) On right pane of window, double click on "Shutdown" 
7) From window that opens, Click "Add" then browse  to where you saved "AudioStop.bat" earlier and double click on it 
8) Hit "Apply"  and close. 

You are done    Window7 will now Automatically stop the Audio services when Shutting Down or Restarting allowing system to complete the process.

I was thrilled to pieces when i found out I can still use my Edirol DA2496 with the roland card :D

So I went out and bought myself a copy of windows 7.

All was awesome until I came to shutdown and it didn't. So 'no worries' I thought, just follow the instructions above.

But no.

I got Windows 7 Home Premium Didn't I, which doesn't come with GPEdit. I'm far from impressed.

So, does anyone know a work around without using GPedit?

You can check the ROM version on the card itself. On my card it has 2 Eproms. One is a B revision ROM and the other is an A revision. But, it seems to work okay?

What are the main defective things that I can check?

I'll try the script tonight as I am having the hang on shutdown problem as well.

I was pushed to upgrade Windows, since Premiere Pro C.S. 5 only runs on a 64 bit system.
I thought my trusted Edirol DA-2496 was useless until 10 minutes ago and I need this card for audio editing (Nuendo) on my video production.
My DAW is based on a old AMD Athlon X64 4400, Nforce4 chipset and the O.S. is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
So far so good (I'll check later for the shutdown issue), but the MIDI port is not available.
Does anyone know if there's a solution for that? Any help would be higly appreciated.

The RPC-1 cards can't send MIDI in 64-bit. That's just how it is AFAIK.

The script above didn't work on my system as I have a Creative card as well. I created 2 batch files to disable the RPC-1 via command on boot/shutdown. I had to grab a amd64 devcon.exe from the MS Win7 Driver SDK as it isn't on their site. ia64 and x86 are available on the Microsoft site though.

I'll try to give you guys a write up later this week on what I personally did.

I am currently having some trouble (pops) with Cubse 5, but I do believe that this particular issue is related to the fact that my system need to be formatted.

These drivers will only work with the Roland RPC-1 boards. They will not work with the Edirol DA-2496 card.

I just used the DA2496 Rack Units with the RPC-1 Card.

Oops! My mistake, I am looking at my Edirol DA-PCI card and it looks quite similar to the RPC-1, I was mixed up and thought I had an RPC-1 silly me no wonder it didn't work.


So if I get an RPC-1 I can use my da-2496 with my 64 bit windows 7? If that's the case I will start looking for one for sale, seems like it won't be easy though.

I assume this driver includes some sort of mixer and digital patchbay? Or will it just show up under my Windows mixer? Also were you able to get the full 8x8 at 24/96? Sorry to ask so many questions, I just really love my Edirol and want to keep using it.

I'm also going to try calling M-Audio as someone else had done to ask if they might have any ideas for me to use their drivers for my DA-PCI. Probably not though.

I have two RPC-1 cards running on win7 x64.  I'm only able to use the WDM driver.  Is anyone using the ASIO driver? If so, any suggestions on how to get it to work on my system?

There is a new Delta driver out with version 5.10.0.5076

Too bad it won't completely install on my RPC-1. Maybe I can try my Delta RBUS.... Can't extract the driver from the executable...

Not sure how active this thread is anymore, but I figured I give this a try. I have a SI-24 with a RPC-1 card that I'm trying to get working with Sonar 7. I have installed the 64 bit RPC drivers and everything seems to be fine there. I can even play back audio through the SI-24 once inside of Sonar. However the control surface is not operational. I installed the control surface driver that I used previously with Sonar 3 for the SI-24 in hopes that it would work, but so far no luck. Is there another driver I need to get things operational or am I just missing something. By the way I am running all this on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and have tried with both 32 and 64 bit versions of Sonar 7..... Please Help!

I was able to upgrade my RPC-1 card to the latest M-audio 6.0.8 driver. This driver also supports a multi card system...

Hi Seth, Thank goodness I found this site and have now registered as a newbie (so please be gentle with me! :-) ) I hope you can authoritatively answer this question for me... I have an old Carillon professional Audio PC running WIndows XP on a pentium 4 3.4GHz CPU with 4Mb of RAM. I am running Sonar 3 Producer and have an external Edirol DA-2496 24Bit/96kHz 8-IN/8-OUT Digital Audio Interface box and corresponding PCI Card in the PC. Despite being an old PC and operating system this still works well. (I keep my bios, XP etc. 'tuned' so it still runs well despite its age.) However here's the thing; I would like to upgrade my PC to run Windows 7, however Roland do not have a Driver for this PCI Card to run on Windows 7. I am very loathe to ditch my external Edirol DA-2496 DAI as it still works perfectly well and cost me a pretty penny when I bought it. However, as a means to getting it to run on Windows 7, I would be happy to buy an updated PCI SoundCard if I could be GUARANTEED that this would work on windows 7 with my external Edirol DA-2496 DAI box. This lack of a Windows 7 Driver is the ONLY thing that is stopping me upgrading from XP to Windows 7... QUESTION: Is there a Roland (or other?) PCI SoundCard product with Windows 7 Drivers that you can recommend that you would GUARANTEE will work with my DA-2496 DAI box? Thanks in advance for your help. Malinki_Malinki.
