SONAR won't recognize my sound card as a valid output

I don't know why that is, because I've been using it for months and it's worked fine. Now when I go into MIDI Devices, I can still see it there under both Inputs and Outputs. However, when I go into the I/O for each separate track, there's nothing under Outputs.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? It seems like it should be easy to fix, if I knew where to look. Other applications like Windows Media Player work just fine, so I think it's just a problem with SONAR.

Go to Options > Audio > Drivers in SONAR and make sure your sound card input and output drivers are selected.

First thought that comes to mind is the fact that midi outs are actual physical midi ports unto which you can connect external midi devices.
Does your (name unmentioned) have actual midi ports?  Either ins or outs?

Next thought is that since midi ports are not audio outs, you should be looking under audio options (not midi devices) if you are trying to get audio running. Go there and make sure you have selected available audio drivers and that you have selected the proper type of driver (ASIO, WDM, MME) for your (name unmentioned) soundcard.

Actually, Scott was right on this one. I dunno why they were unchecked all of a sudden, but thanks man!

And to answer your question Brian, yes it has actual MIDI ports. But I guess it was just the audio I wanted working, and it is now! Thanks for the advice anyway!

    No problem. Glad to help.

That has happened to me before as well... although only usually after I installed something... not just out of the blue.
