Version 1.2 of BCR2000 control surface plugin now available on Sourceforge
Hi folks Just in time for Xmas, version 1.2 of the BCR2000 control surface plugin is now available. This version supports both Sonar and Reaper. The same functionality is available on both platforms, enabling you to control either DAW from the surface in exactly the same way. As previously, just search www.sourceforge.net for BCR2000. Although the Sonar version does not have specific new functionality in this release, the installation process has been considerably simplified by supplying a SysX file that does all the configuration setup for the BCR2000. Also the release notes have been extensively modified to correct an error relating to MIDI channel assignment and to clarify certain areas. I have also collated various enhancement requests that have been made by users since this software was first released. These are discussed in the release notes and it would be worthwhile for existing users to download this from Sourceforge as there is a real possibility that some of these enhancements might be available in the very near future and I would like to ensure that I have all the most pressing requirements collated, so feedback will be greatly appreciated. Email details are available in the release notes. Best wishes to everyone and hope you all have a great festive season....

Hi AJ Any chance you have done similar work for the BC F 2000 [ fader version ] ? Alternately, do you know anyone who may have a BCF2000 general / universal / control surface where the faders do respond and can be edited or adjusted by the user ? Alternatley [ again ] - the Mackie Control Mode emulation for the BCF is OK but it cant [ at least I dont know how ] be editied or modified - do you know of any way around this ? In my [non-technical mind] I am hoping there is some way to extract or transmit the MCU emulation from the BCF to a .sysx file and then edit it and re-load it. Any help would be massively appreciated. All the best, Tim

I don't own a BCF2000 but there's no obvious reason why the BCR plugin won't work with the BCF (in non-Mackie mode, of course). You lose the bottom 24 encoders and have 8 motorised faders instead. I would remap the CC assignments for the top 8 rotaries to be channel pan rather than channel gain, since clearly you want the faders to do that, and move those CC assignments to the faders. At this point in the main view you've only lost send gain and pan per strip - not a big deal - and the main loss is on the EQ page, where you've only got the top 8 rotaries now instead of 24, so limited control over EQ, and for the subsequent plugin pages, you're only getting control of the first 8 plugin params instead of 24, but that's the tradeoff, I guess. It'll cost nothing to try, so you could always give it a go. The BCF and BCR units are very similar, and in non-Mackie mode (the BCR has no Mackie mode at all), it's only those rotaries vs 8 faders that are different. So if you download the SYX to the BCF in non-Mackie mode and save to a preset on the unit, it should work with the surface plugin. Then, as I said, change the top rotary CC assignments to be what would have been the pan controls, and set up the faders with the CC assignments that the top rotaries had, and re-save the preset. At this point the behaviour should be fairly sensible.

I know this is an old post but I see in your profile that you're now using Platinum (The best money I've ever Spent). Per chance are you still using the BCR2000 in Platinum and on Window 7/64? I'm somewhat of an OLD "Newbie" and any templates, links or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi aj, I don't know if you're aware that I'm maintaining a sticky over in the software forum and a link to my Onedrive where I post files and details about member created utilities, plugins etc. Go and check it out and if you want I'll post a link to where you keep your plugin or host a copy which ever you choose. Thanks for your efforts on behalf of the forum. Check my signature.
