Will Sonar 8.x open .p5p Files?

Funny, it's the Cubase Media Browser which has got me inventorying all of my music projects and snippets. Got a number of P5 projects. Also have a few mission critical Sonar projects I use almost everyday for rehearsal.

But also realized I have Cakewalk files literally strewn across my C drive. They're everywhere - like roaches.

Anyway, if I could open .p5p files and Sonar project files, I'd probably drop the bucks for the 8 + 8.5.x upgrade just to avoid the hassle of converting all of these over to Cubase and/or Ableton. Otherwise, if .p5p files can only be opened in P5, then I'm gonna do the conversion and get rid of ALL Cakewalk files. Then start fresh with a clean install of my latest version of Sonar - that being Sonar 7.

So to summarize: Will Sonar, in any version including the current version, open Project 5 files (.p5p). Thanks in advance!

Wow, guess the P5 community is fading away like the program development. Too bad. A really nice little program. I liked it from the start, way before I owned it. I was pulling up tunes in it last night and was reminded what a really forward-thinking, ahead-of-its-time program it is.

Anyway, I guess you can't do this in Sonar 7 and upon further consideration, it makes no sense to jump back in to the Cakewalk pool when I've already dried off with the towel of Cubase and am quite happy being dry and content. I think I'm gonna just convert my files over as MIDI files or .wav files as the case warrants.

Still, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for P5, and may re-install it once I get a clean dedicated music PC. Now I'm sharing with other apps and there's just way too dang many Cakewalk files strewn all over my drive. Can't find nuthin.

Love and still use my P5 rewired into Sonar.  As for your opening issue, I don't know if Sonar PE will open .p5p.

OK, thanks for the update.  Do you call your ex-girlfriends or boyfriends (not that there's anything wrong with that) once a week to remind them that you're happy with your new girlfriend or boyfriend and won't be coming back?
