Need help with Steven Slate drums...

I picked up the SSD $20 audiomidi deal this past week. Finally got it installed and activated. Opened the kontakt 3 player and loaded a kit. Noodled through the keyboard, and it worked. Opened Sonar, and ran the plug-in manager several times, and it seems Sonar just won't recognize it. Does this not load like the other soft synths, or do I have a problem. I'd really like to use these new kits, but can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm stuck in the past, but my foot's tapping forward

Cool, I'll investigate that tomorrow. Did a little mixing tonight, and got to the point where everything sounded like I had a metal bucket on my head. Had to shut it down and walk away!

Sonar recognises Kontakt 3 not Steve Slate Drums. Steve Slate Drums is a library that's all.

    It works with Session Drummer.

How can it work with Session Drummer since all the files are .nki (Instruments) or .nkm (Multis) in Kontakt format?

The default installation folder (at least when I installed) is C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 3\64 bit VST plugins...

Make sure your VST scan options include this location (unless you're using the 32-bit version in which case it would be Program Files (x86)...

You're right. I wrongly assumed it would work the way the ones that came with Sonar 8.5 do.

You have to use the Kontakt Player 3 plug-in that comes with the samples.

I know I have to open the Kontakt player, but Sonar won't see it. I've tried several locations to search for it in the plug in manager...it just won't see it.

Have you added the correct directory to your VST scan options and then rescanned your VST plugins?

Find the .dll and make sure it's scanned.

    Ron,

Search your C:\Program Files (or Program File x86 depending on the version you installed)\Native Instruments\Kontakt 3...

Unless you changed the default directory during installation that's where it'll be...
