Sonitus Delay Causing C++ Runtime Crash

I am running a new install of SPE 8.5.3 on Windows 7 / 2008 C++ redist. package. I've been working on a particular project, it has quite a few VSTs running, but nothing crazy or outside of the norm. I've been having frequent "C++ runtime error / abnormal termination" message crashes. So I decided to start tracking it down. I can replicate the crash at will by holding down the spacebar for about 5 seconds, then I get the error. I removed plugins one by one until the error stopped happening. It stopped happening when I removed the Sonitus Delay plugin. So I went back to the original full project and removed all instances of Sonitus Delay. Magically, the crashes went away.

I really like the interface and functionality of the delay plug and it came with Sonar so I find this whole situation a little weird. Any ideas on how to remedy this? It seems to just be the delay plug, the Sonitus Compressor is fine, I have about 8 instances running with no issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Update: Fixed

FYI for anyone having similar issues: I rolled back the .DLL for the Sonitus Delay DX plugin to ver. 3.3.0.1 (ver. 3.3.3.141 was causing the crashes) and now all is well. It's also coexisting fine with all the newer versions for the rest of the sonitus suite.

Patient: "doc, it hurts when I do this"
    Doctor: "stop doing that"

Holding the space bar down for 5 seconds is going to engage auto-repeat, meaning you're effectively sending a stream of discrete spacebar keypresses, and telling SONAR to stop/start/stop/start in rapid succession. Getting strange results while doing something like that does not surprise me at all.

Of course, the Sonitus Delay is not the most reliable plugin in the suite. It does some weird things. I love it and use it a lot, but it does do some weird things. Like disabling automation for other plugins that follow it. Like making loud clicks on every tempo change when tempo-synced. Like playing its buffered echoes from a previous playback at the start of the song. A potentially great plugin, but it's sick and needs a get-well plan.

    EDIT:
I see that you solved the problem while I was typing my reply. Never mind my "don't do that" advice.
Interestingly, my Sonitus Delay is newer than the one you were having trouble with: 3.3.3.372.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    bitflipper-
thanks for the reply. yeah, I know I shouldn't be holding any keys down, but it was the only way I could consistently reproduce these frequent C++ runtime errors I was getting. these errors would just randomly happen every 5-15 minutes or so while I was working, usually when stopping playback and then starting again. I just did the spacebar thing for testing purposes so I could go through the troubleshooting without having to wait some arbitrary amount of time to reproduce the error.

but yeah, it's a buggy plugin, and while I've learned to live with it's quirks, crashing the whole app goes a straight from quirky unusable.  glad it's sorted.
