Shame on you, Beagle....no dust mask while cutting that glass?? It looks like you only went 2" deep with the OC, or did you go 4"?

Just a quick FYI for those who might be making bass traps out of rigid fiberglass. Buy an electric carving knife to cut the fiberglass with. Goes through it like butter! I bought mine new but one could probably find them at a thrift store. And even new it was very inexpensive. I would NOT use it to carve the Christmas ham with after cutting the fiberglass however.

James - actually the guy in the picture there is Bob (RobertB on the forum), but yeah, we should have had a mask. I did only use 2" on all the traps, but made them 6" deep so that there's 4" of air behind them (of course much more space behind them in the corners). Houndawg - I didn't actually take measurements of this room before and after. when I first built these I was in a different room (much larger room, but with 2 door openings and one of those openings was double wide). the response change wasn't great, but it did smooth out the mid-lows. Lance - thanks! the green walls actually look lighter in the picture than they are - the walls are very "olive" in real life - but yeah, I think they look really good. pdlstl - that's a really good tip!!! I have some more OC703 that I plan to make small corner traps for my ceiling to wall corners and was trying to figure out a way to cut them lengthwise - an electric carving knife would help a lot!

I was born here in Mineral Wells but I spent 8 years in N'ville working as a session player. That's where/when I became enamored with UT! I am always telling my friends that my favorite teams' colors are orange and white, not burnt orange and white! I was constantly amazed at how the entire state would transform on Saturday! Go Vols!

looks good. I think you'd find out putting in the extra 4"..or at least another 2" would make a huge difference. All you'd need to do it just put it in and hold it in with a cloth backing. For bass trapping, which looks like what you're wanting by having them in the corners, the 2" isn't doing much (although much better than nothing) and the extra framework in effect is adding any air space that you wouldn't already have without it. I'm mentioning, because I am speaking from experience and the extra makes a big difference and you're really already setup to just add some.

yes, guys, duly noted about the 4". I will likely add another 2" to each one as I am able.
