Just trying to understand "Stand Alone" Mode

I have a guiarist freind who does not use a DAW and probably never will.

Can I buy the V-Studio 100 send it to him. Then have him download a rough mix (in WAV or mp3). He'll load up the mix, record a track or tracks and he sends me the WAVs and I mix in SONAR?

Seem like I could but I'm not clear if it's really possible.

Yes, you can to this, but .wav only. No MP3 support.

Yeah, I'm loving the V-Studio 100... extremely versatile, excellent drivers, excellent for mobile recording situations... I've even used it at some business networking functions to play some of my audio over PA speakers where the mixer only had TRS line inputs and XLR inputs available...

Adding this piece of hardware to my setup has resulted in the greatest increase in productivity / versatility and functionality then any other piece of hardware I've bought so far... I would say... highly recommended!

I've used it for mobile audio capture several times now, in both 44.1 KHz 24 bit and 96 KHz 24 bit wave file formats

This perfectly sums up my experience with my V-Studio 100 and what I have been telling everyone.  It has been the one purchase that has had the most profound impact and improvement on my productivity/workflow and creativity as a result.

I cannot recommend this product any more highly than that.  I've bought so many other "gadgets of the day" before and all have come and gone in my search for what Cakewalk has produced in the V-Studio 100.

Get the bag too. It might priced a little high ($60 US) but it is well worth it.
