VS 100 and Laptops
Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here; I hope you all can help!
I recently purchased the VS 100 and its been great. I also just built a new desktop and they work great together. Here is my problem though; Moving my desktop around is a real pain.
So here is my dilemma: for most anything I want to use the VS 100 for, it works perfectly either with my computer or stand alone. The one issue I have is recording drums; If I want to properly mix and record the drums, I'll need to use my Desktop with the unit so I can mix all the everything after its been recorded. For demoing songs and doing quick trials, using the WAV recorder has been fine, but when I move on to a big project I'm going to want more control.
So here is my question; what would you all recommend as far as specs are concerned for a laptop used to just run the VS 100 and record drums. I Use an old version of Cubase (more as force of habit than anything) to record everything, and frankly, I'm not worried about hard drive space or anything; I will probably do all my recording for the drums on the laptop and then immediately move everything to my desktop for the other instruments and mixing. I'm trying to get something as cheap as possible consider how it won't be my main machine. Any advice would be great, Thanks!
