Guitar Rig 4 and SP8.5.3 recording question,,,,

I'd like to record a guitar track live with a Rig Patch the includes a WAH pedal.  I have yet to do this where the data stays (the performance stay, and I can alter the wah post recording(meaing GR 4 is still up as a VST and the wah pedal can make changes during playback) - but it didn't record the midi movements from the Rig Kontroller 3).

Has anyone does this before?

It was suggested to dump GR4 in the synth rack, but that isn't an option because GR4 doesn't show up the list of Synths.  I can hook the RK3 up midi, but not sure how to capture the MIDI data to trigger the wah on my audio track simultaneously.

If you know, please step-by-step it for me.  Thanks.

I assume the answer lies in a track folder like a soft synth. Just don't know how to tie one back to the other.

If you want to use MIDI, go into the plugin manager, click on GR4 and bring up properties. Check the box that says configure as synth.

However, RK uses host automation with GR by default. Just arm the track for automation; anything RK sends out gets recorded that way.

You can force it to use the plug in as a synth which might work. It's tools>plug in thingy>get the properties for the plug and then use as synth or some such

Seems to work, going to test more (I only used one effect, now I will bump it up).

Thanks much for the prompt replies!
