Can I use my midi controller to affect parameters on effects on an audio channel?

Okay, what I'm doing is running VB3 through Amplitube 3. I want to be able to control the rotor speed in Amplitube from my mod wheel (or another controller). VB3 is receiving midi just fine, and the audio is going through Amplitube, but I can't figure out how to get the midi data passed to the effect as well as the synth. Am I missing something obvious, or is this kind of routing not possible in Sonar?

Yes it is possible.  Are you using ACT?

Go into the plugin manager and bring up Amplitube's properties. Check the configure as synth box. Done.

Remember that in Sonar, any plugin that receives MIDI other than clock must be configured as a synth.

Thanks, this helped. At first, I still couldn't get Amplitube to respond to midi. I finally added a second midi track, and assigned its output to Amplitube, then enabled the input echo buttons on both midi tracks. VB3 responds to my playing, and I'm now controlling Amplitube with my knobs and sliders. The rotary effect in VB3 is good, but the one in Amplitube 3 seems to be a lot better.

    Hi

Can you tell me how you assigned output to Amplitube?  I have it configured as a synth but can't see how to do that.
