The decision is found !!!
1. Configure VST (e.g. ProTrig) so that Sonar allows you to use it as a MIDI event source.
To do this, follow these steps:
- in Sonar, go to: Tools -> Cakewalk Plug-In Manager
- in the next window, select VST what you need and press "Properties"
- in the next window, make sure the following items are checked:
. "Enable as plug-in"
. "Configure as synth"
. "Enable delay compensation"
- then press "OK", and then "Close" to finish the VST configuration
2. Now comes the "trick(y)" part:
- go to Windows "Start" menu, select "Run..." and
type "regedit" to start the registry editor (it's possible you need
administrator rights to do this)
- press CTRL+F, type your dll name (e.g. ProTrig.dll) check "Look at Key" box and press Find
- in the found key set the value for the "generateEvents" key to 1
- exit regedit
- restart Sonar or rescan plugins
3. Add a audio track to your project.
4. In the "Track Pane", add your plugin (e.g. ProTrig) to the insert effects
of the audio track and make sure it is enabled.
5. Go to View -> Synth Rack, and make sure that when right-clicking on ProTrig,
"Enable MIDI output" is checked
6. Now you see in the midi track input menu your ProTrig as source :)
this hint works also with Drumagog5, Blue Cat DPeakMeter and many other FX plugins which have midi out but not show they by default :)
