SoundFonts with Sonar 8.5.3 and Windows 7 x64

What program can I use to load and use soundfonts?
I thought it was "SFZ" but I can't get that to load the SF2 banks even though it finds them.

I have a significant investment in soundfonts since my Audigy 2 days.  I don't want to have to struggle with trying to get that card working again.

With Sonar LE I was using font!

You have to download SFZ + Plus from the cakewalk online store. It's free now, but you still have to go through the steps at the store to get it.

Once you get it you have to change the 'Mode' settings to PR32 otherwise you get a 'Not enough memory error'.

A quick way to make sure your SF2 file is working is to click on the dark gray bar at the bottom of the SFZ + window. It's a mini piano keyboard but the graphics aren't there.

I still use SF2's once in a while myself.

    Good luck.

You would be happier with a much better font player. I have used sound fonts for years, and use them on my Windows 7 machine. I have found vSampler to about the best sf2 file player around. Try it out, the download is a free player for thirty days.
