Old Country Song - "You Win Again"

This is a cover I did of an old Hank Williams Sr. song.

You Win Again

Instrument list:
Session Drummer 3.
Fender San Miguel acoustic for rhythm and slide.
True Piano x64.
Squire P Bass.
Peavey condenser mic for acoustic and vocals.
No V-Vocal --- what ya hear is what ya get. :)

This is another one off the album I'm working on called 'Songs My Mama Taught Me'

Hope everyone enjoys ... comments good or bad are welcome.

I used to play this in quite a few a bands in the past..... man those old county folk like that song.... or maybe it was the fact that they could slow dance to it. You know.... grab your partner and dance cheek to cheek..... if you don't like dancing cheek to cheek, you can always turn around and face each other....!

that took me back to quite a few NC honky-tonks.....

Listening to your song makes me feel right at home at the local saloon where all the cow pokers hang loose .
For a country song you did good on this song , now break out the fiddle and lets shake the saloon .

Now where's my spit can , nice one ! Radio

    I like this a lot.

I might add a bit of bite to your vocal... and I'd search for a reverb that emphasized the low frequencies but was so subtle that no one new it was there... just an effort to get it sounding like it was played into a single RCA 44 on a really good day.

I like the slide and piano treatment a lot.

    best regards,
    mike

The slide part was done in one take and I couldn't do it again if my life depended on it! First, it's hard to do on my guitar because it has a very low profile and I kept hitting the frets with the brass bar, and second, I suck at slide. This one was pure luck.

Mike: I'll tinker with the reverb some more. I know exactly what you mean.

Thanks for all the great feedback everybody. It's great to know other appreciate this all but forgotten genre of music too.

Reminds me of Saturday mornings when I was little and my dad would put the TV on one of the 3 channels we had to hear all the most popular country singers of the day. I like it!
