Tried a second time with same result. Corrupted file cannot install. Virus scanner is disabled, not sure what else I could possibly do. I guess I will have to wait for the boxed version. Stupid downloads /kicks can

Mike, If I am not mistaken you can download the file(s) again. As it is with the digital world, sometimes downloaded files get corrupted. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks Seth, I am in fact trying for a 3rd time, my hopes are low since the first two attempts were corrupt, I dont have any reason to believe the 3rd time will yield different results. However, crazier things have happened

Hmm, that's weird. How's your internet connection? If it's not so fast try downloading with an FTP client like Filezilla. I don't know if it will solve your problem, and I'm not trying to send you on a wild goose chase for solutions, but it might work if you're feeling adventurous. Oh, and I see you're in CT, so its the perfect time of day for an adventure

I have a fast internet connection, I have no idea what the problem could be. I even deleted the previous corrupted files instead of simply 'replacing' them on the next run through 3/4 of the way through the 3rd attempt, I'll let you know how it goes.

Hmm, that is odd. Try refreshing your browser and/ or clearing your browser's cache. I'm grasping at straws here, but you never know. BTW are you using a download manager or anything like that to download X!?

I'll try that. I have no idea what a download manager is, I'm clicking the link from my email that sends me to the cake website where I can download. Something is wrong somewhere, I just dont know what I could change. My connection is stable and fast, my virus protection is disabled

OK, so it sounds like your just downloading straight from your web browser, which should be fine. If that's the case clearing the cache might in fact help.

I have also major problems here. Great SPEED...but it make the computer crash and halt end of some downloads. Happens both with Mozilla and IE. I have order the DVD aswell. Seem having problem to make multi downloads in one go? If you do download each one at the time it works better. Regards Freddie

I got that error too, but I stupidly downloaded to my Macbook, then burned to a disc and ported it over. I've restarted on my actual DAW and I'll try again in the morning. I wonder if the fact that one of the files is a RAR archive has anything to do with it.

Mike, and anybody else getting bad/truncated downloads: use a download manager. I recommend Free Download Manager. I just dl'd all 15GB in 3.5 hours and no missing bits. Since everything is RAR'd, the downloads can be verified by "testing" the RARs. Also, another source of corrupt downloads is writing to bad sectors on a disk that you don't realize has some bad sectors. A lon sot, but something to check if all else fails.

I was finally able to DL through my internet explorer instead of my AOL browser (from my email link). I dont know why IE explorer worked and through AOL it was corrupted but alas, it was downloaded. I never did receive any registration codes or serial numbers even 11 hours later. As far as the disk with bad sectors, once a week I run a tool called SeaTools from Seagate and it inspects your drives, it is a pretty neat tool. I am so paranoid, I back my projects up to a partitioned area on my C drive, also to an external drive...and lastly I run that diagnostic tool usually once a week -Mike Now to get my registration codes and serial numbers from cakewalk. I really should post on that thread "whats the benifits of getting the boxed version" ...I would post that you don't subject yourself to any of this nonsense while you sit drooling for hours in your chair waiting for X1!

When these types of download problems crop up the FIRST thing to do is empty your browsers cache. That will almost always solve the problem on the next download attempt.

I'm also getting the following message: Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry file installation. Specifically, the end part of the file list that shows after clearing that message has an error message that says: CRC failed in Install\setup-5.bin Unexpected end of archive I am wondering which of the two files (i.e. the part one EXE file or the part two RAR file) I need to download again. These take roughly 5 hours apiece to download on my DSL connection, so I would strongly prefer not to have to do both. I might add that these were downloaded with Internet Explorer on Win7 x64 if this makes any difference in anything. One thing in particular I am wondering about is if this might be a file that is either spanning the two files or the first one after the start of the RAR file and there might be some issue in opening the RAR file, for example relating to permissions, as opposed to actual corrupted files. Rick

I'm pretty sure I figured out it is the EXE file that was corrupt. I hadn't looked at the file sizes before, and that one seemed a fair bit shorter than the expected 2.9 GB, whereas the RAR file seemed right for the expected 2.6 GB. Why it got truncated, on the other hand, is a mystery since it seemed like it had finished normally. In any event, I am redownloading the EXE file. Currently at 353 MB of 2.92 GB. :( Rick

I used to have AOL (of course) and I hated when I got up to get something to drink I would hear in the background that stupid AOL voice say "Goodbye". Everytime I heard that all I could think about was saying that to AOL. So I fired up Pro Audio 9 and recorded myself yelling into the microphone "AOL Sucks!!!" I then changed the "Goodbye" wav to "AOL Sucks" wav. Then everytime I got a beer I would hear "AOL Sucks" and that always cracked me up. My friends would say "What the hell was that?" and I'd say, "Oh that's just AOL hanging up on me."
