Where's the Full SONAR X1 Reference Guide PDF (not the puny User Guide)?

I think we went through this before with the 8.5 Reference Guide not being included in the download. IIRC, you had to request it from Customer Service, and they would e-mail you a download link. Are we going to have to do that again?

I think you have to download that separately. You had to register first and then you got a link sent. Thats how it was with with 8.5. probably the same with X1.

Here's the old link to the form to request the 8.5 Reference Guide:

    http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/SONAR/Files/SONAR85RefManual.aspx

I tried substituting "X1" for "85", but no cigar.

I haven't found it yet either, Dave.

And yes - that 56 page "user guide" is very skimpy to say the least.

I was going to post the same question because I thought that maybe I was losing my marbles trying to find it on my computer last night.  So, yeah, gimme the full reference guide, Cakewalk!

I sent a request to Customer Service just in case that's going to be the drill again. But maybe it needed to go to Tech Support...?

Odd that it's not included in the DL.  I'm guessing it is on the installation DVD.

I'm new to SONAR so a manual is a must for me. Can't believe it isn't included with the download. I am planning on making SONAR my primary DAW-well, if I get a manual...

Yeah, especially with this release. Even doing things you've been doing for years is difficult with the way menus, shortcuts and layouts have changed.

About as useful as the manual that came with 8.5 Producer box version.

We are all just beta testers it seems.  we document the problems they document.... Wait, it seems they have not documented anything... Just kidding, but a released product should have a completed manual.  I know my cough drops have instructions on the back and you would think that would be a pretty easy to figure out concept - unlike operating a "REIMAGINED DAW 2.0" don't ya think?

That's great, but I put aside time to study the manaul.  I always do.  NOT to have one on a very big change to a program at release time is unfortunate.

Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference.

Please don't take this wrong - I mean it as an honest question:

Why upgrade at the very earliest possible minute if "little" things make that big a difference to you?

Why not wait a few weeks for the first update and all the little details to get sorted out? Why not let others deal with the initial headaches?

Funny, because I thought going to 1 menu for all the things I've been doing for years was easier than navigating to 20 different windows.

Gotta say though, not impressed with the roll out overall. Was really hoping allot of the small details like this would have been addressed.

Agreed. The bug list seems to be growing and growing. Now I know why they didn't show much in the videos. And I haven't heard too much about 'Pro Channel'...

I understand your point, but that doesn't make it right to NOT include a "manual" for such a big upgrade.

Being an early adopter is challenging, sure.  But manuals should not be "optional" regardless.

It's in that old format though - so not easily printable.

And it's not a manual.  IT's a collection of help items.

The funny thing is I'm really not that concerned about myself as I have been using Sonar for quite some time now, but imagine being a brand new user that downloaded X1 as your first DAW today and low and behold, you get a user guide that may get you started, but if you want to know about some deeper topic, your screwed.  Sure you have Help, but still.  A professional product should include a manual with it.
