SonarX1 Producer and ProjectMix I/O

Hello everyone,
I have been an avid user of cakewalk products, ever since the good old days of cakewalk pro audio.
I never experienced a single problem with this amazing software.
Lately, I have upgraded my pc to a windows 7 64 bit one, installed sonar x1 64, and my projectmix soundcard/control surface.

Of course i downloaded the latest firmware from m-audio.com, and now the prjectmix is working.
but there is a problem: sonar will only recognize the "projectmix external midi" option in the midi devices list.
there should be a "projectmix control surface" option, which when selected, allows the projectmix to act as a controler.
so my problem is that i can't make the projectmix act as a control surface in sonar x1 64.
Please help!

It may be unrecognized as such initially..
you might need to do something like this in X1..

    Thank you for your time!
But the problem is sonar won't recognize any midi type other than "projectmix external midi".
"Projectmix control surface midi" is still missing.

That sounds to me like a driver installation issue. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver?
Checked you've got the latest version? Does it work okay in 8.5 (or earlier)?

I've always found m-audios drivers, er... entertaining to say the least, especially their x64 ones.

My PMIO midi control doesn't show with Legacy firewire driver.
    I use TI driver instead.
My point, try another firewire driver.
    Hope this helps.

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago. Un- und installing any drivers didn't help, I had to uninstall X1 and install it again.

Other DAWs (Sonar 8.5, Cubase SX2) recognized the Control Port so the bug is within X1.

Texas Instrument 1394 OHCI compliant host controller.

From device manager update IEEE 1394 Bus host Controller driver.
Choose let me pick from a list.
    I have 3 options,
    OHCI
    OHCI (legacy)
    and
    Texas Instrument

Similar problem here.   Running X1b Producer.   Downloaded & installed driver for Project Mix I/O, tried to configure ACT in SONAR (as Mackie protocol), but SONAR doesn't seem to see the Project Mix.   Does anyone who has this working have any step-by-step instructions?   The M-Audio manual is weak and the M-Audio site is (naturally) pro-tools centric.     I also have a Profire 2626 that I want to continue using along with the Project Mix (which I mainly want as a control surface).

I tried implementing the Projectmix under SONAR 8 rather than my new X1b and it worked fine right away.   Something is different in X1b --- I've contacted Cakewalk tech support to see if there's a bug, setting or other solution.   Will post when I hear.
