How does SONAR X1 MBT count compare to other DAWs?

I already know why some DAWs don't have a MBT count that starts before 1.

It is just because.

So I am asking something very specific.

How does SONAR X1 MBT count compare to other DAWs? Which DAWs can or can not allow for MBT count that starts before 1?

I'll try to collect the results here in the OP. It's sort of like a poll.

NO:
1) Cakewalk SONAR
2) Presonus Studio One
3) Propellerhead Reason
4)?

Yes:
1) Cuckos Reaper
2) Steinberg Cubase
3) Avid Pro Tools
4) PG Music Power Tracks
5) Apple Logic
6)?

best regards,
mike

"REAPER has been able to do this for quite a while."

"Many do. Cubase, Pro Tools, Reaper... "

"Even Powertracks from PG music does this it has a feature called offset. The measure can look something like -2 -1 0 1 2 3"

    frankandfree says:

"Logic does it as well, of course."

Thanks everyone.... are there any more?

How about DAWs that do not do this?

    best regards,

Return to a time before time?

    No:

    Studio One (artist)

Not a bona fide DAW I know but Reason doesn't either.

    non-issue :)

Not if you don't want to calculate the offset manually.

It's a fit and finish thing, not a deal breaker I agree.  Nevertheless an aid to workflow.

For me, it's one of those things that I have wished was there more than a few times.
A few of my hardware synths simply refuse to spit out sound on beat 1/measure 1/tick one.
And MOST of them have at least a small delay if you send it a Program Change on beat 1/measure 1/tick one.
[this kind of defeats the purpose of storing the info in the track's MIDI properties, or at least makes it a less than perfect function]
For while I would do the manual offset thing but it drove me crazy having to re-align markers and re-think measure numbers.
So I relented and just started shifting those tracks forward MIDI-wise and then shoved the audio back into place after recording.
    Hardly an ideal solution.
I'm not advocating for ProTools - I really don't like much about it [off-topic here], but it's been able to do this as far back as I can recall without difficulty.
Hoop-jumping detracts from your workflow and spontaneity - even if it becomes habit, it need not be that way.

This may not be something you need [I speak to the general population here], but I find MANY functions in Sonar that I'll never use; that does not invalidate their value to you, does it?
