TELEPORT SERVER has stopped working.

FIXED, Thank you.

Alright, so I have this project I'm working on, it has about 30 tracks of EWQL VST's. Everytime I load it, Bitbridge takes up almost 2GB of RAM, and then before it finishes loading my instruments, it says I'm running out of memory. Which is wierd, because I have 8GB, and it says this when I'm using only 20% of my RAM. When everything is loaded, it plays well for 5 seconds, and then the instruments start to get choppy and eventually all mute out, and then "Teleport Server has stopped responding", shows up, and I close it, and no sound comes out again.

This started happening in Sonar 8, and then persisted when I upgraded to X1 studio, I called tech support and they said to do a clean install, which I did, but it didn't work. They're not open today so I can't call them, and this is bad because I'm on a deadline with this project.

Windows7 64 bit, 64bit sonar x1 producer, 8gb Ram, using ASIO in an ASIO compatible sound card. This just recently started happening in Sonar 8 about a week ago, I thought upgrading would solve it, it didn't, it still happens in x1.

Thank you.

Which VST is it? Kontakt / Kompakt? It's extremely cranky under BitBridge, seems to decide it's running out of memory long before it actually is.

This is a colossal pain in the arse, but if yopu've got to hit your deadline no matter what, here's a potential workaround.

This only seems to be a problem on first loading the project. As you already know, it will let you set up this many instances and run them during a session, or you'd never have been able to create this file.

So... deep breath... if you load the project in safe mode, you can accept all the other plug ins and reject all the EWQLs. Then you can manually replace them, hook them back up to your existing tracks, and continue working.

Of course, you'll have to do this again every time you reboot. I haven't found a more permanent solution yet.

Absolute bloody nightmare, I know, but it might at least help you get through today's work, then you can spend some time working out how to fix it properly in your downtime.

I take it you haven't upgraded to the x64 version of Play and you're using the ancient versions. Have you tried running them under Jbridge? Or upgrading to the x64 version of Kontakt? Youi're going to have to do that sometime

I'm almost positive I've upgraded to the x64 version of Play. Haven't tried Jbridge, I'll make sure to do both of those. I'm not sure about Kontakt, as I've never done anything pertaining to that.

Yeah, I have the x64 of each of my products. I'll look into Jbridge now.

Well you won't need a bridge of any sort then......

so why are you running the 32bit plugs if you have the x64versions?

    ???

You don't need to bridge anything if you are using the 64 versions, Play, Kontakt and Sonar.

Are you sure you are using the 64 bit versions of the plugs and not still VST scanning the 32 bit versions from Sonar 64?

I don't think Bitbridge ever even ran before... I'm using Play_VST_x64.dll. I don't know why this started happening, but I didn't even have a bitbridge process until recently. It's really frustrating.

You must have a 32 bit plug in somewhere, whether an instrument or an effect. What else is in the project?

This might be as simple as nuking a single plug in and using something else.

Alright, apparently it's fixed. There was a problem with the 64 bit dll and the directory etc...

It was a stupid mistake, I've only taken one course with Berkleemusic on Desktop music production, everything else has just been on actual composition, nothing to do with the production/technology.

So sorry guys, I still have a lot to learn about Sonar, I think I'll take a course just for Sonar.

It's an easy thing to overlook even if you are on top of it.  Installers can put stuff where you don't want it and stuff like that can happen.

I just have a directory structure setup outside of the basic Sonar install paths that goes:

Program Files/Vstplugins  <--- 3rd party 64 bit plugins go here.
Program Files(x86)/Vstplugins < 3rd party 32 bit specific plugins go here.
Program Files(x86)/VstBridged <-- Bridged 32 plugins to be shared with 64 bit Sonar go here.

Then I just add 'Program Files/Vstplugins' and 'Program Files(x86)/VstBridged' to the scan path of Sonar 64.
Then 'Program Files(x86)/Vstplugins' and 'Program Files(x86)/VstBridged' to the x86 version of Sonar's scan path.

Of course if you don't run the 32 bit version of Sonar you can dispense with the 'Program Files(x86)/Vstplugins' folder and keep 'Program Files(x86)/VstBridged' just for 32 bit plugs you want to run bridged in Sonar 64.

Sorry to drag this one up but I am having a similar problem with my new Windows 8 installation.

I've currently got a test project on the go, into which I am inserting every plug that is available through Cakewalk and all the third party stuff I have collected.

The obvious problem is that I'm running 64bit X2a and there are still a lot of plugs I am using that are 32bit, some of which I don't really use. But I was wondering if there was a particular culprit. Perhaps one of the older Cakewalk plugs?

Again, apologies for dragging this up from the depths.
