[Answered] Sonar Expanded - ok I think I understand now but...
Reading CW staffers posts re. Expanded, particularly Willy's, I now see that there are two parallel Sonar X1's in existence: Sonar X1c and Sonar Expanded. My final query is, will these both be maintained in future and subject to separate updates? Or will updates be 'intelligent' so they update both as some people may not bother buying Expanded? I'm not being tight as far as Expanded is concerned and I'll be buying it even though I don't need any of its new functionality, because I assume X1c is dead (or will be in a few months), long live Expanded, which I assume is now the current product and will be called X2 when it is next updated. Litmus test: if a new convert buys Sonar now do they get 'Sonar X1 Expanded'? John

I get the impression that there will be 2 update patches at least for awhile. Those for X1 Expanded and those for X1c. Don't forget X1 Studio is neither expandable or just like X1c. I believe CW has different patches for it then is has for Producer.

Hi John (and John ;), I don't know the exact plan as far as the next update, e.g. will it be one update that handles X1C and X1 Expanded or two seperate installers - but I can say that there will be a free update for both X1C and X1 Expanded owners. As John points out there a few flavors of SONAR X1 (Studio and Essential) that we will continue to support as well.

Yorolpal I believe a Cake rep answered that on another thread and said it is the "exact" same X1c that you have already installed.
