PCR500 and Sustain Pedal Problem...
dear folks , I just ran in to a problem with my PCR-500 and Sustain Pedal.... when the pedal is unpressed the notes are sustained but when i press it , the notes are not sustained , it`s like working reversely.... i reset my PCR-500 but the problem still exists.... i pressed the pedal and then turn the PCR500 off and turned it on while the pedal is pressed but again the prob. exists..... where do you think the problem lies in?!! Your help would be really appreciated, Joopin

I will tell you how to reverse that action of you tell me what your sustain pedal settings are.

well my sustain pedal is actually a simple on/off switch , so there is not any special settings or button on it! it just connects two site of the wire ..!! for sure there must sth wrong with my PCR 500...! because this switch is working fine with "Behringer control surfaces".. thanks for your replies dude...

Friends, After searching the net , I`m going to dismantle my PCR 500 in order to solve the problem... are there any experiences? its my first time to dismantle it....not quiet sure if it is simple..! Your ideas and Experiences would be really appreciated..!

I really wouldn't do that Joopin. What pedal are you using? Is there a reverse polarity switch on it?

Have you tried a different pedal? It sounds to me like it is to do with the polarity of the pedal rather than the PCR. Not only will the polarity make a difference but so will whether it is a latch or non-latch switch. A latch switch turns something on or off, a non-latch only switches something on while it's held down. For a sustain pedal you want a non-latch.
It might be worth trying the pedal jack half inserted in the jack socket as well, you may get different behaviour that way.
I'd investigate that first before doing something as drastic as dismantling the keyboard. Once you know it's not the switch then start pulling the keyboard to pieces.

Thanks for your recommendation - i tried another pedal , i tried with different polarity switch but nothing happened..!! i thought there might be something wrong with the settings in PCR itself... But i don't know whether pulling the PCR to pieces is a easy task or not..!! if someone have done such a thing please help me.... Thanks again friends

Another thing worth checking (& I'm working from memory here) is that there aren't any settings to change for pedal behaviour within the PCRs settings. I can't remember without having a look which I'll do when I get some more time back in the studio. Later today hopefully.
