Frozen Synths Unavailable After Thaw
As well as Sonar 8.5.3 refusing to link my projects with the plug-ins they use (see the other threads i've resurrected), i now have a project that does NOT warn me of missing plug-ins but the Synth Rack entries DO behave as if they're missing plugins.
Out of five synths, four of them will NOT unfreeze. The freeze is thawed but the plugin remains disabled and i cannot open the interfaces. If i open this project on my backup machine with Sonar 8, i can recover ONE more of that five in the synth rack.
Has anyone else had this problem? Yes, i've sent a technical support inquiry, but i'm sick to my stomach that my work may have been lost in many projects simply because Cakewalk has had such horrible VST support and that i've obediently upgraded year after year (which seems to be the biggest problem with this VST CLSID issue - don't upgrade or move files around and it might not be a problem).
Wont open in 8.5.3:
Reaktor5
Kontakt2 x2 instances
daHornet
Recovered by using Sonar 8.0:
Reaktor5
The only one that's totally fine and Thaws properly is Cameleon 5000.
Yes, i'm freaking out. What the heck is the problem with Sonar? This is unacceptable. i've done nothing wrong but spend time off of music and continue to give Cakewalk money over the years.
Does Sonar X1 still maintain the same lousy VST plug-in system? i've hated Cakewalk's plug-in management since day one but i kept letting them have their time (and my money) to work it out. That was a mistake on my part.
