Freeze All!

im working on a track right now and realized, man, would it be great to have a "freeze all audio tracks" button.
yes, i know this would take awhile, but still. it would save me 30 clicks per session.

I would rather avoid taxing my "audio" drive, as freezing many tracks will easily bring even a 7200rpm mechanical drive to it's knees in no time at all. Just MHO.

There is no such feature in SONAR but Ben Staton has made an awesome utility called SONAR Plus which includes Batch Freeze function!

You can find SONAR Plus utility at www.sonarplus.co.uk and support forum at www.sonarmods.com.

Been asking for batch freeze for YEARS. Wouldn't it be nice to have a freeze button on a track folder to freeze everything in the folder with one click?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

The help file would have explained it to you.

Archive sends the track to archive. It's mute, unaccessible and does not consume CPU. Freeze turns a soft synth track into an audio track or prints the VSTs.

Those two are not even remotely similar, not in any way.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

I know I do this too often, but you can now do batch-freeze (including freeze all) using benstat's Sonar Plus... I use it all the time. There's one button for freeze selected tracks and another to un-freeze selected tracks....

As to how it hurts my hard drive? I don't see how it's any worse on it/them... All it does (freeze) is render a file of the processed track which is then simply streamed... But if your drive is too full and all those files are fragmented trying to find space, it will tug at the drive harder.... so just use your drive(s) until they're relatively full, but not too full...! ;-)
