Copy Paste Bugs in Sonar Timeline/Arrange View?? Not Pasting Where Instructed!

Cake: Taken.

Between the plug-in CLSID mismatches (& utter lack of assistance to the user to solve them), the graphical glitches, the horrific Event List window, the microscopic & poorly behaved scroll & zoom, the infuriating envelope editing clumsiness (no, i did NOT want to drag & drop the entire envelope, just the SINGLE node i CLICKED ON!!) & the "invisible Solo state" bug (solo a few tracks, delete them; notice you're soloing nothing & can only fix that with a click on the master S button on the status bar), the more intensely i work at Sonar, the more i hate it. Right now there are only TWO things keeping me from dumping it:
1. Familiarity/Existing work in Sonar format
2. Easy routing and FX bins

So just now i encountered this one: Stuff wont paste where i tell it to paste.

i selected some clips on multiple tracks, copied them, selected the target location & chose paste. The pasted data ended up on new tracks, further down the timeline. i know this is a bug because it's happening intermittently. i saved screen shots of it happening & considered posting them, but i needed a shot that showed the selection before copy, & now i can't reproduce it. This is the 3rd time this bug hit me. How do you work with a tool when the editing functions are so unpredictable?

i'm not going to waste more time trying to host the images somewhere just to post them here, but they exist if someone from Cakewalk wants to see them. The reason i'm posting this, aside from venting the utter frustration of it, is that i want to know if this is a KNOWN problem and if anyone knows the exact steps to reproduce and to avoid it so i can get on with my work. Anyone??

The only thing i might be doing that's non-typical is i have Snap disabled & i'm zooming in very far to ensure i'm positioning the playback head precisely. The audio in this project was converted from an old tracker song & those aren't in easy to relate to standard time signature & BPM, so i'm having to arrange manually. If anyone thinks they can tell me exactly what signature(s) & BPM my track is, i'll send you an mp3 (i've tried; i think it's 4/4 but i cannot line up the grid with the audio in any BPM i've tried & i've already had to severely realign everything just to import a MIDI clip from the original module, which claims to be 100 BPM on its own but wont line up with the audio unless it's at least 120 BPM in the main project file... etc... i've given up trying to figure it out; i'm not traditionally trained enough to work it out AND i have severe difficulties with math).
