Downloaded and installed them last evening, but haven't fired up X1 yet to test it out. Everything went smoothly.....I'm looking forward to learning some tips on T-RackS from that Groove3 video as well.

MrMook: I highly recommend the Black as you can use it on practically everything (vocals, guitars, bass, drums, busses etc...) and it does put life into these tracks. That being said, I haven't used the White yet, so I'm biased.

I'm also partial to the Black 76, though I own both. Of all IK's plug-ins it's probably the one I use the most.

Mesh, thanks! After reading the descriptions I went with Black.

White will be next if I can find it on sale.

Too bad esoundz didn't do their sale on the Singles this week.

Yeah, that has become my go-to plug as well. I actually bought the White last month...have yet to find it's sweet spot.

I selected the White as the freebie since the ProChanell has an "1176" comp and I had no "LA2A." So far, I've been doing pretty good with the PC76. How does it compare to the Black76?

I like using the Black76 first followed by the White2A on vocals.

I've been using it in the guitar bus for distorted/overdriven guitars. It's been working for me. Depending what I'm doing, it's nice on the drum bus as well.

I don't have X1 so I can't tell. There's a fully functional demo on IK's web site though.

Judging for my experience w/ the various virtual incarnations of the 1176 I've tested (NI, IK, BF), I'd bet you that there's more difference between 2 original hardware units than there is between any of these software models. Unless Cakewalk really screwed up (which I doubt, they make good plug-ins), it should be on par w/ any of those guys.

Re:Group Buy Time at IK - February 29, 12 5:02 PM ( #130 )
There was a thread from a while ago, i'd say around the x1a or b days, that someone ran a drum loop through the pc76, the black76 and the uad76, and though it was only a drum loop, there were only insignificant differences that i can remember. I thought that since people had a lot of time since then to play with these, that there might be some opinions of both by now.

Hopefully someone who has them all will chime in. UAD's the one I'd expect to maybe be in a different league.

On a related note, I've spent some time messing w/ NI's VC76 and did a few quick a/b tests w/ IK's Black 76 and, even if there's the almighty Softube logo on NI's version, I didn't hear anything that made me think that I needed to replace IK's.

I think this particular question might be hidden from a lot of the forum members since it's in this thread. A lot more people probably have these plugs than may have participated in the t-racks group buy.

The group buy appears to have been extended to March 31st.  White and Black bonuses now appear to be a sure thing.

I wonder what we can get to those of us that have both the Black & White and who also got in on this GB?

@mesh, sadly timing is everything. I wasn't checking the forum for a time and missed the $10 deal to go to X1 Expanded. Such is life.

Well, over on KVR, one of the IK guys was wondering aloud (OK, I mean figuratively "aloud" in a post) what IK might add as another bonus if the count goes to 3000.  I'm thinking it actually might do so.  They're over half way there with 30 days to go and a killer deal on offer.

I'm curious about this as well. I got excited when I got the Black at 1,000 and immediately ordered the white...

Thanks IK for another killer promotion! I thought the 15 year promo was outstanding (and it was), but this is really great too. We should certainly hit 2000 with both the White and the Black as incentives. ------------------ My suggestion for the 3,000 bonus is CSR! You guys would go down in history as the company with the undisputed most awesome specials.

Question about the Black and the White.  Do they also work within the Deluxe standalone and Deluxe suite?  I know they work as individuals, but was wondering if they find their ways into the Mastering suite.

T-Racks is basically just the shell, a proprietary host if you will. So you can use any of the components that you've bought in any version, regular or Deluxe, including the Black 76 and White 2A.

The difference is simply that Deluxe comes w/ more components.

Or maybe one of the Amplitube versions.
Like the full version of Amplitube 3 seeing as I'm pretty sure most people have installed the free version.

(Or the Fender version would be nice too  )

Hey IK Obi,

I have T-Racks standard with all the additional plugs except the 2 newest ones.  If I crossgrade to Deluxe can I sell or give away my Standard w/extra plugs?

Excellent suggestion M@ B!! I'd be extremely happy if IK did the CSR as the bonus.

Same here.

I don't think they'd let it go for free though. Maybe it's an impression, but it seems there's not much love anymore at IK for CSR.

I think it's a fantastic plug-in, but considering that it's a bit older, the $229 price tag seems a bit prohibitive, furthermore considering that it hasn't been updated to 64 bit. Sales and promotions might help.

And I stick to the idea, if ever IK gets back to it - go singles and pile up the emulations. I'm sure gear junkies would pay for extra models, even if the basic units already cover a lot of ground.

Well, since I don't have the IK reverbs (I'm pretty sure I already own more IK software titles than ones I don't), that would surely be my first pick.

I'm under the impression that an upgrade to Sample Tank is in the works.  An advance "coupon" for a discount on that would be welcome.

But the reverb would make this deal one I'd sign up for in a heartbeat ... oh wait ... I already did.

@Vintagevibe - You can, check out the license transfer information in your User Area --> License Transfer. There are some cool suggestions so far if we get close to 3,000! 1506 people in the Group Buy, we're not to far away from 2,000!

I've had CSR for about 5 years and they still find their way into every project.
I honestly thought that any one who owns an IK plug already owned CSR.

If they would update them to a newer 64bit version I'd buy it that day.

We are working on bringing CSR and our workstations to 64 bit. Stay tuned for more details when they are ready.
