Track Automations Don't Copy Consistently?

So I have a midi track with track automations (Volume/Filter Cutoff). When I select the 4 measures I want to copy, the track automations copy just fine, HOWEVER, the automations are MOVED (removed) from the source clip.

Any ideas on what's going on here? Can't live without track automations.

Ive been on about this and other pointless automation options since version 6, i n past lives it feels and past forums names  before i again quit Sonar, (Before anyone pipes in no i have never been Banned or rude lol).
I get no workable solutions, i have been told to do this and that, but i wont go into detail as it never works as it should, i have had  alittle more regular sucsess since x1, but still inconsistant and unsure as to what i do on times that it does work , i will leave it for the Experts to Better advise, Good luck, i need it too, They have started with an upgrade on automation selection, but i am just hoping this year, we will see it improved more so and new drawing methods added  along with this fix for your/our/my Issue .

And just to get another note in, if we can not already, but can we not Hide all automation altogether, the arrangment looks so sloppy with those horrible darkened squiggles etc, but unlike the new automation selection menus, can we please make it simple  to locate it again, just thought i should get that one in, simple jobs deserve the simple and obvious methods , if your codeing will allow cakewalk

Not sure if I'm following you correctly, but if you are trying to copy and paste automation parameters from a virtual instrument it has been confirmed by multiple members that it flat out won't work in X1. A known bug/broken feature. If that is the case, then unfortunately you will have to go and manually recreate the automation for each part that you want.

If you are trying to copy automation parameters that are not coming from a virtual instrument then I'm not really sure why that would not be working.

Automation continues to be one of the weakest areas of Sonar.  Not sure why they're having such a hard time getting right.

Yep. I concour that where envelope cut, copy, paste is known not too work it's a disaster. Buss automation copy and paste is awful, I don't use VSTs much but it sounds like that has the same problems as busses.

Everywhere else should work though and work well, except perhaps instrument tracks but I don't ever use them so don't really know just recalling what I've read elsewhere.

I'm a bit confused about why it doesn't get fixed. It's certainly not a recent X1 thing anyway, it's always been like it.

If you control + drag an entire clip, the automation gets copied with it.

    Works fine here, always has.
