Sonar X1 Production Suite Install/Upgrade ?'s
-
March 24, 12 12:27 PM
( #1 )
Greetings, I just received my crossgrade copy of Sonar X1 Producer and it installed succesfully. I then purchased the upgrade to the Sonar X1 Production Suite version. So, my question is will I need to download all the files contained within the Sonar X1 Production Suite download link that's on my account page (including all files that seem to be already installed from the Sonar X1 Producer install), or is it possible to cherry pick files from that list? Which files are required to be installed, if cherry picking is possible? Thanks for taking the time to answer.

That's a lot of GB's to have to download for my current internet situation and I would like to avoid going that route... However, if I do have to d/l all of the links listed for Sonar X1 Production Suite, then would I have to uninstall the X1 Producer version before installing the Suite? I'm unable to find any specific info on the subject. Any input would be appreciated.

I'm not sure TBH but I'm fairly certain that you will be able to run the bits you need. The production suite is as far as I understand it X1 Expanded, z3ta 2, plus some PC modules (?) X1 expanded needs to go over X1c and then be updated to D. Usually the installer is fairly good at allowing you to custom install. You can for example just install one VST if you want so you may be able to use that to control how much is and isn't installed.

Hey thank you for the response, FastBikerBoy. Yeah, I had figured it out last night and it was as simple as installing only the extras that came with the Suite version. I installed the x1c update right after the initial x1 producer install, so everything is running perfectly.

That's good, hope you enjoy using Sonar. The forum is a great knowledge resource, amongst all the squabbling.

Using an android tablet to post on this forum doesn't work very well I see... Anyway, while I was testing out the X1 web trial, lurking these forums, along with watching your tutorials greatly contributed to me deciding to purchase X1. I definitely have to give you props for your efforts.

I've downloaded the trial version of Sonar X1 and now want to purchase it. I don't have any other Cakewalk product installed (I have a copy of Cakewalk 6 somewhere but that probably doesn't count... ) I can't see anywhere on the Cakewalk site that says "buy the full version here". Is it the Download Upgrade for any Registered Cakewalk Customers that I should buy? (Is that "upgrade" the complete product?) I'd just like to make sure before spending all that dosh. Sorry if it's a dumb question. Thanks,

strat1971, I believe it is. "For Any Registered Cakewalk Customer" it says. If you registered Cakewalk 6 when you bought it, that should count. If you never registered it, load it and register it now if it will save you some bucks. That is for the full version, too; no need to have some other version on the computer. Welcome to the forum.
