New Song, worldmusic called, " Twilight" acoustic guitar - March 25, 12 6:43 PM ( #1 )
Here is a link to my most recent work.  I played this on acoustic guitar and added some hand drum in the background. This is not intended to be a bass heavy song mostly written in the mid ranges. Thanks for listening!-Tim

Hi Tim,
Nice playing!  May I say that the guitar might have been miked a little too close?  This preformance would lend itself to a more open room with maybe two mikes.  I feel right close to the guitar hole but would like to be in front of you.  Just a thought.

I wish I could play that well.

I fine bit of playing with a little quirkiness.  I always enjoy your tunes and the effort that goes into each of them.  BTW, I love your avatar.
All the best,

First thing that came to my mind was CSN&Y.  I loved those guys and saw them live.  So, automatically I like this tune.  Let's put some harmony vocals to it.  :-)  Really a cool guitar tune, Starise.

Hi Starise. This was really good. I couldn't hear the drum clear enough so it was a bit of a distraction. If it stood out more, it would sound better in my opinion. Or like mgh said, lose it all together.

Thanks,

Bub

great tune, Tim!

I agree with bub about the drum - it's a little distracting in the mix like it is.  sounds like a djembe with you actually playing it (as opposed to samples)?  I would suggest that you mic it from the top and bottom if possible to get a mix of a good solid sound of it.  if you can't re-record it, try some EQ and compression to lift it a little loftier in the mix.

It's a nice piece Tim!

IMO this should be tons better if this were re-recorded/re-performed or something. But compostion-wise, it's a very nice piece.

Interesting one Tim, this has a Page/Plant vibe to it. I might go all out and get some ethnic instruments & percussion going, really bring it to life.
