Problems installing X1 Producer from dvd's.
Hi! I'm trying to install Sonar X1 producer from the four dvd's. The first two dvd's with the main program and Guitar Rig worked fine, and I could also complete the registration of Sonar with the code I recieved from Cakewalk. However the Beatscape program or plugin, I'm not sure which, doesn't appear annywhere. It's with dvd's 3 and 4 the real problems begin. I installed the Dimension Pro program/plugin and then dvd 4 with additional content. I then recieved the code needed to register the program, but when I tried to do this I got the message that it was already registered. Also, the additional content is nowhere to be found. So I have three problems; Beatscape will not appear, Dimension Pro will not register and additional content cant be found. I might add that Im trying to install the 64-bit version, maybe I should go for 32-bit. I'm running Windos 7 on a decent HP, and I'm not that great whith computers. Can you help me please.

when regestering demention pro,try doing it in the stand alone mode (on the desktop) you need to right click it and run it as admisistrator or it wont regester. is your computer 64 bit? you didnt mention any of your computer specs.

Same thing happened to me. Run As Administrator solved the problem. I've been saying Run As Administrator so much lately I'm thinking of changing my handle to that. lol

And yeah... if your Windows operating system is 64 bit do the 64 bit install. If Windows is 32 bit do the 32 bit install. If you don't know what version of Windows you have click on the Start Menu > click My Computer > at the top of the window that pops up click System Properties. That page will give you basic info on your system. Look at the System Type section of the page and your installed operating system will be listed.

Thanks for your advice. Dimension Pro is now registered. I still don't know how to get access to Beatscape or the additional content on dvd 4 though. As I understand it it should show up in the Dimension Pro program browser, but it doesn't. Any Ideas? My computer is a standard HP that I bought 18 months ago. It should be up to the task. Thanks again.

Beatscape is a separate Virtual Studio Technology Instrument (VSTi.) It is a 32bit VSTi only. It is found under the Synth Rack. In SONAR X1 x64, Beatscape is loaded under BitBridge. You must make sure you add Beatscape to the VST Scan path by using the Cakewalk Plug In Manager under the Utilities menu. You have to do a clean install of the 1.5 version of Dimension Pro that comes with X1 in order to install the Additional Content disk. If you had another version of Dim Pro installed before you installed the copy that comes with X1, the Additional Content disk wont install until you completely uninstall Dimension Pro and then re-install it. Instruction for how to completely uninstall Dim Pro are found in the link below: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013238 Hope this helps.

You might try to run the install program as administrator to get it to install. See if that works for the Beatscape additional content. To do so simply right click on it and select run as administrator.

I sorted the problem with the additional content for Dimension Pro now. The problem was due to an oversight on my part. I missed the fact that you have to uppdate the browser of DP when you restart after installing dvd 4. And again, thanks for your help. There are not that many people using Sonar over here but I think it might be catching on. And now, the updates.

I haven't been able to figure that one out. I've been searching the forum for a solution, and I've found this - "In Preferances under VST, add path to Beatscape, then rescan or restart". I have found the preference box, but I dont know where to go from there. thomasabarnes How are you with the Beatscape matter?

To add the Beatscape installation path, go to the SONAR toolbar menu (at the top left of SONAR) under Utilities and select Cakewalk Plug-In Manager. Then, the Cakewalk Plug-In Manager dialog window pops up, click the Options button under the VST Confiruration section. Click the "add" button to browse to the Beatscape installation directory and add it by clicking OK to that window and the next window. You should be back to the Cakewalk Plug-In Manager dialog window, now click the Scan VST Plug ins button, and after the scan, you should be able to load Beatscape. Hope this helps.

I tried this, but I must have made some kind of misstake. After the scan most of the soft synths didn't appear under the insert toolbar. I tried to deinstall, is that english, and reinstall the program. The problem remained the same. The only softsynths showing up are cakewalk tts1, cyclone, pentagon, psyn and roland groove synth. Now I really don't know what to do. thomasabarnes To add the Beatscape installation path, go to the SONAR toolbar menu (at the top left of SONAR) under Utilities and select Cakewalk Plug-In Manager. This stuff can be a pain... I know. If you're having a hard time with certain things and aren't finding the answers here just email Cakewalk support and tell them what's up. They sent me tons of useful links to help me through my problems. Really cool, professional, nice guys. Good luck... oh and in English that would be Uninstall. *waves from Canada*

Well, here's something to check. You can install only the Plug Ins by choosing the Advanced installation and placing a acheck mark in the softsynth boxes you want to install. When done, go back to the Cakewalk plug in manager, click the options buttion and at the botton put a checkmark in "re-scan existing plugins." Hit OK and scan VST Plugins again. See if that will get you to see the plug ins you want. If that works, go back and untick "re-scan existing plug ins."

The plugins seems to be installed were they should be. In the C/Program/Cacewalk/ map, and the C/Program/Cacewalk/Plugin Map but the rescan doesn't change anything in the Sonar plugin Manager. Can trying the advanced option install fix this? thomasabarnes SwedishPete I tried this, but I must have made some kind of misstake.
