any NI Battery users?

Hi everyone

Something's always bugged me about Battery 2, and now that I've downloaded the demo of Battery 3 and am going to upgrade, the problem still exists, and I'm not sure if it's an NI thing or a Sonar thing.

It's the 2-octave discrepancy I'm talking about.  A C3 on my keyboard is a C3 in the PRV, but in Battery the C3 triggers the pad assigned to C1.  This is fine if you're not going to change any note settings, but having to subtract 2 octaves every time is annoying.

Anyone know how to solve this?

This kind of thing happens because of the different systems. Sonar is in the scientific system (0>) and Battery is in the (musical system?) starting at -2. You'll find this all over the place as far as I've seen. Just use the Learn function rather than keying it in if taking 2 off is too annoying haha

Battery 3 x64 work fine here. VERY stable!

No bugs. Drag and drop any sample from any browser outside Battery 3 into a cell inside Battery 3 works in Battery 3.
Also you can use higher quality Sample algorithm to "Perfect Sample-mode" same as in Kontakt.

C3 VS C1. No its not a Bug. Mostly all drum samples start at C1 key. Its the lowest and the first midi key on the Keyboard. Many hardware controls and editors like MPC, KORG / AKAI pads are setup as KICK C1, C#1 Stick, D1 Snare and so on..

Talking about other intruments...Vienna and other East West symphony instruments are setup to use C1 to C2 for use of keyswitches control etc..

    Thanks guys.

Yeah, I guess I don't use too many synths outside of the bundled Cake stuff these days, so I don't notice a discrepancy.

And anyway, I only got annoyed in Battery 2 when trying to make drum maps, but as I understand it, Battery 3 comes with drum maps for Sonar?  Is that right?

Never used them as I make all my own kits from scratch and organise drum maps in a very specific way, but I just checked the list and yes there are a bunch on there :)

Me too.  I agree with the OP about the 2-octave discrepancy.  It makes creating drums even more tedious than it is anyway.

I bought it and hate it. The sounds are great, but doing anything with them is like crawling a marathon.
