Two great free plugins from Vladgsound.
http://vladgsound.wordpress.com/plugins/ These two plugins have great potential. The are pretty complex, but I think you'll find their worth (with a little bit of manual reading). The Limiter no. 6 is very transparent while the Molot compressor adds a fair amount of color.
