How many of these new features will be included in Sonar X2 studio?
As I watch these videos I cannot help but think none of this stuff will be in Sonar X2 Studio and that we are only seeing X2 Producer features. I am curious what benefit do guys using Sonar X1 studio have to upgrade to X2 studio?

Thanks Seth. Sounds like the way to go for me is probably producer.

What's up with the 384kHz samplerate? I've never seen that number before. What exactly would one do with that?

And this is probably a silly question but will I be able to load those one shots into BFD if I want? If not... SD3? I like having lots of smashy sounds available.

Well, ya, that's the main thing. Other than that, its for those who have the hardware, desire, and hard drive space (but who's short on that anymore) to record at an ultra-high sample rate. Most of us, myself included, don't have an interface that can go beyond 192khz, but there are a few on the market that can. SP

Yep, they're standard WAV files so ya, they can be loaded into SD3, BFD (assuming it can load samples), and any other sampler like Battery, etc. To load into SD3 you can actually drag and drop right from the Browser directly onto a kit piece. I would assume you can do the same with the other instruments, just have never tried it personally. SP

Cool stuff, Seth. This X2 dealymabob is looking delicious. Mind you I'll have probably just wrapped my head around X1 by the time it comes out though so hopefully most of the meat and potatoes stuff is somewhat similar. I'm currently plowing through the X1 Power book (what a great book). It'd be good if I can still use a lot of that knowledge. Seems like you guys just built on top of X1 and made it better so I'm sure it'll be fine. Looking forward to the webinar. Cheers.

Seth Perlstein [Cakewalk ] xabiton Thanks Seth. Sounds like the way to go for me is probably producer. You're welcome. Glad it helped you figure out which version is for you. Just curious, but what feature(s) has you thinking of upgrading from Studio to Producer? SP I bought X1 thinking the Pro Channel was in Studio. When I realized it was not I started buying plug ins to give me what the Pro Channel had. I decided to upgrade to X1 producer a few days before X2 was announced. Now with the console emulation it will be even better. I am hoping also that whatever conflicts Sonar has with my audio interface are resolved with this update. I will not upgrade until I get a demo and I can see if these issues are fixed. If they are not I will consolidate everything into Live but Sonar's mixing features are too sweet and I would much much rather use Sonar for that purpose.

Hmm… I might be missing something here but, why bother with studio when producer cost so little extra Mod Mod heavier zippers are a real drag.
Sonar Producer X2 + 8.5.3, HP pavilion dv6 3031TX Win7 home premium 64-bit, Edirol UA-55, Edirol UA-25, Edirol PCR-500, 2 Behringer FCB1010, Rode NT1A, KRK Rokit 8 Monitors, PODxt, AKG520 Cans, too many guitars to list and a Dog "Lets complicate things a little for the sake of simplicity"
