Creeping Latency problem S3.1 Producer

hi all,
first off i'd like to say that this forum rocks!!! it's great to see such a quality group of individuals helping each other wrap their heads around this awesome product. with that said...

i'm experiencing an interesting phenomena in sonar 3. lets say i insert a dxi say triangle ii my initial latency while playing the instrument is 2.9ms with the wdm drivers enabled (i've also tried the aiso drivers with identical results). the dxi responds wonderfully and all is well...then within a few moments, the latency will creep up to +10 or so ms. this is with no additional load placed on the system (i.e. tracks created, audio imported, etc.). if i leave the room and come back in say 15 or so minutes, the latency will have creped up even more to say +30ms. this behavior is driving me mad!!! i have a relatively sturdy system:

p4 2.0a ghz with 768 meg ddr ram
msi 845ultra mb
maudio audiophile 2496 w latest .36 drivers (also tried .27 to no avail)

the whole thing has me baffled. i even went back and installed my old sb platinum with the kx drivers and experienced the same effect. the funny thing (or not so funny) is that this only happens in sonar. i own reason and flstudio and the latencies stay rock solid through out various heavy loads and usages. this basically makes sonar unusable to me since i mainly purchased it for is rewire and dxi/vsti capabilities.

if anyone has any light that they can shine down this long dark hallway i'd be forever grateful!!!

thanks in advance!

    Hi Smitty,

Sounds like the problem that IgnoreMidiInTimeStamps will cure. Add the following line to TTSSEQ.INI in the Options section ...

    IgnoreMidiInTimeStamps=1

    Hope that helps.

Sorry to be unclear. If it's already there, simply change the value to 1.

    Hello,

If the line exists you can change the existing value.

    Some more questions:
Does your machine support hyperthreading and is it enabled?
Is Enable Multiprocessing on in the audio configuration? If so does turning it off fix the problem?
Do you have any delay compensated plugins in your project?
Does turning the engine off and on again rectify the problem when you encounter it?

thanks again for your quick responce!!!!!!!
