Record Click Track in Sonar 4

Hi All,

I have an external Metronome and recorded a click track in Sonar 4 but I can't get it to line up with the Sonar grid all the way thru the song. I tried quantize, but it does not seem to do anything. I have played around with the audio part of the metronome in S4, but can't figure out how I can record the metronome that is built into Sonar to a Sonar track.

If this can not be done, can anybody suggest a Metronome plugin like Ping that I can buy ? I looked at Mike Normans site and sent an email to him, but the email got bounced back and his site says it may take several days before you can download the plugin after you pay for it. Any help is greatly appreaciated.

My method is to paste a audio click on the quarter notes of the first measure and then copy to measures out to about 200 meas. or so and then save as a template. This way beat always lines up to the grid, even when changing or inserting tempos.

Instead of a click track, you can use the Session Drummer to play any kind of metronome pattern on any softsynth (or any MIDI instrument).

Thanks everybody. I finally figured it out.

I went to my sound card setup by double clicking the volume icon in my taskbar.
Then I set the record function in my sound card to "What U Hear"
In Sonar 4, I set a tracks input channel to my sound card
In project options I set the metronome up to a wood block and to use the audio instead of the midi and to play on recording
I armed the track I had setup and hit the record button on the transport.

Wha-La, Sonar printed the metronome on the track perfectly.

    Thanks again,
