AARDVARK EXPERTS

When I tried to install the Sonar 4 update, Sonar wouldn’t recognize my aardvark lx6 soundcard. I think it might be the driver version I am using but so far, everywhere someone has told me to look for the driver has turned out to be a dead end. Has anyone had succsess running Sonar 4 with the lx6? Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have two of the aardvark cards on two different machines so the stakes are kind of high for me.

    STFF (search the "Fantastic" forum)

i think people have had to uninstall drivers/cards first before
    installing on other aardvark products.

i dont have one, so i just skim those threads but i think thats
    the case.

I also have and use the LX6 Pro on (2 as well, on 2 DAWs) and all is fine. Using the 7.13 drivers (the latest that were available before AArdvark went under).

You HAVE to use ASIO. So make sure you go into OPTIONS->AUDIO and set ASIO. Then exit Sonar and relaunch.

If you've tried that, then you may have to uninstall the LX6 drivers from your system, reboot, reinstall.

If you need the driver, I put it up for another user who needed it at my site:

www.ba-midi.com/stuff - look for the setup file there.

Try going to asg.hopto.org - a site put together by some friendly Aardvark users.

    Hope this helps...

I have briefly reviewed the forum for sources to obtain software downloads for my Aardvark Pro 24/96 but can't seem to get into any of them.

Had to reload my OS, due to major crash, and now my original Aardvark XP installation disk is flawed and will not load up correctly.

Please help, as I hate to waste such a great system which I can not use at present.

Should be the same driver - have you tried ba_midi's link to the driver?

I've looked at the ba_midi link but don't see anything there concerning Aardvark, although I'm not real sharp at these issues.

When I run the Aardvark installation CD, Version 7.0, for XP, it doesn't install and just screens up what all's on the CD? If I hit update it resembles an installation but when you go to open the file it says, "Can't open, AARKTHK.dll not found."

I'm so lost and appreciate any guidance.

    Thanks,

    Lou

Click on http://www.ba-midi.com/stuff here, and in the box on the top left corner, click on Setup713. Download the file and then install it.
Good luck. I love my LX6!

    Hey Billy!

I was checking out your E. Rigby... nice mix! You should have Bond have a go at it - I think those girls would provide a great visual mix to your remake.

    Sorry for being off topic...

    RE: DirectPro24/96 Recognition Problem 2005/09/15 10:04:22 (permalink)
I purchased a new computer, connected my Aardvark Pro 24/96, downloaded needed driver and continue to get an error message" Can't locate card, please install card."

I have disconnected and reconnected 24/96 several times but when pulling up software the same message occurs.

Any assistance, guidance will be greatly appreciated as I'm a goose with this stuff.

Pardon me if this is too simplistic. I'd open up the computer and move the Aardvark interface card to a different slot. Make sure it is pressed in firmly.

Make sure you were using the 7.13 version (the last they posted before they went out of business).

My old Aardvark cards would behave this way if the PCI host cards weren't driven home fully. And the 7.13 / 7.11 drivers were the best for me. 7.04 and below didn't do anything but cause headaches. I'd used two 20/20+ cards for years. Eventually sold them on ebay. I am stunned that since I sold them months ago I've not had a single crash (using a fireface 800 now); previously I was crashing two to four times a session. Ouch.

If anyone needs the 'last/latest' drivers, I keep a copy on one of my ftp sites:

    http://www.ba-midi.com/stuff/Setup713.exe

It's the 713 version (last posted by Aardvark, and works well).

Sometimes you have to completely uninstall the old drivers, reboot, then install these to get 'em to work.

    Enjoy.
