MXL 992 or what?

I'm in the process of upgrading my home studio and would really like the best microphone available at an affordable price for recording vocals and acoustic.
I have just about set my mind on the MXL 992 condensor mic but would appreciate advice from other home users.

Really i'd like advice from anyone who is currently using the MXL 992 and have good/bad points they'd like to share or perhaps if anyone is using the Behringer B1 or B2 or similar who'd like to share their thoughts also.

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

I use an MXL 990 large diaphram mic for recording vocals and acoustic instruments and I reckon they are exceptional value for the money. I dont think you will go wrong with the 992. Not sure what the freq response is for the 992 but the 990 is 30 hz - 20kh in comparison to the Behringer B1 which is 20hz - 20kh. I also might try an AKG CS1000s for recording acoustic instruments.

    Hope this helps
