+3db whenever I bounce a track?
Hi everybody! After some years using sonar I just realized whenever I bounce a track the new track is 3db louder than the former. The only plug-in I inserted in the original track was sonitus gate, so I disabled (no plug-ins now), set the fader to 0db and I try to make the bouncing again. I compared the two tracks and the bouncing is 3db louder. ¿What I'm doing wrong? can quality be affected by the sonar engine adding these 3db?

What I'm doing wrong? can quality be affected by the sonar engine adding these 3db? Ad 1 - You aren't bouncing to/from panned mono, are you? (see panning laws in Sonar in other thread) Ad 2 - only if clipping occurs

new track is 3db louder Is it a mono track, and do you have the mono/stereo selector in the stereo mode? This will double (add 3dB) the volume. Select mono mode for a bounce. (You may then reselect stereo if you have stereo effects, like a chorus or delay).

Ad 1 - You aren't bouncing to/from panned mono, are you? (see panning laws in Sonar in other thread)
Ad 2 - only if clipping occurs It is mono but not panned, it is centered. do you have the mono/stereo selector in the stereo mode? Where is this selector? Do you mean the "channel format" menu in the "bounce to track" pop up window? I bounce from mono to mono track.

Where is this selector? Do you mean the "channel format" menu in the "bounce to track" pop up window? I bounce from mono to mono track. No. It's the track interleave control with is right next to the phase control on each and every track. -S

No. It's the track interleave control with is right next to the phase control on each and every track. I found it. I selected mono and I tried a new bounce but it is still 3 db louder ????

Your track is set to MONO, correct?
And it only has MONO clips on it?
Just as a test, move the mono clip onto a mono track where it's JUST THAT ONE MONO CLIP and then do the bounce to clips. Does it happen then?

That's right Just as a test, move the mono clip onto a mono track where it's JUST THAT ONE MONO CLIP and then do the bounce to clips. Does it happen then? Yep, 3db louder again. I even stopped mixing the whole project. I wonder if these +3db affect sound quality of the take. My ears say yes, but I'm biased to think so.

Any chance you're feeding an aux without realizing it? No aux or effects. I think if it was a bug it could be easily reproduced in any other daw.

A new test;
I exported a mono track as a mono wave file. Fader was set to zero, no panning, no effects, no auxs. I imported the wav file into a new track -> 3db louder again.
So, whenever I export a project is +3db louder unless I route all tracks through a master bus and make adjustments? It can be possible!
The routing of the tracks is from track to master and from master to my soundcard. Master's and soundcard's faders are set to zero as well. I checked my soundcard control panel and outs are set to 0db.
Now, I muted all tracks but one, and watched the peaks of this track, the master bus and my soundcard out -> all peaks the same.
I try a new bounce and I uncheck everything in the bounce to track window -> the same, 3db louder
what else could I try?
